Under 9s

Today was the local derby with both Under 9s playing eachother.  It was a great game to watch as the girls worked hard to score at both ends of the ground. Was anyone keeping count of the score? No-one seemed to mind come the end of the game and the team song was given a resounding rendition.  Excellent work girls.

Under 11 Joeys

Another week of strong improvement from all the Joeys with a resounding 4-1 win over a reasonably strong Sunshine team. Charli scored 4 excellent goals - one from a sharp angle to the right of goal, another from the left, a third from a well taken free kick from 20 metres and a final running through the field from half way. However, it was only because Charli was so well supported by all her team mates that she was able to score those goals. Our defence showed massive improvement this week and was pretty much impregnable - well done defenders. But all players played their positions very well this week and we were able to win balls, pressure the opponent and play balls into space for players to run onto. Special mentions this week to captain Chiara in only her third game who made some excellent positions and runs on the right and some lovely passing from Lucy Ford from the left wing. But hard to single out players as I was very happy with the effort from all players. Tom

Under 11 Kangaroos

Well its been a great start to the season - 3 games and 3 wins.  You all should be very proud of how you played today it was out toughest game so far. Both our goals (well done Elwen and Rozie) were the result of a very solid build up from the backs and midfielders. In the first half Isobel J was a powerhouse in the centre back defensive role and when Bulleen did get passed her Georgia was always on the spot. Great work girls. Ishi had so many runs down the left wing I lost count.   Special thanks again for our Joeys in stepping up to play Honor, Gemma, Elwen and Zoe.  You all played very well especially in the support roles you gave to our midfield and back line.  It's great to have the support of all our 10 year olds and I hope they are enjoying the opportunity to have a run with the 'big girls'.  Peter

Under 12s

Great come from behind win (2-1) against Ashburton Green to put them on top of the ladder.

Under 14Cs

On Sunday our girls travelled to Diamond Creek for an afternoon game against Nillumbik.  We played on grass for the first time this season which was much harder than playing on the synthetic surface.  Despite all girls working 100% for the whole game we still lost 6 - 0.  Our goalkeepers Emily and Kira did a great job managing to stop many more goals.  Most of all it was fun!

Under 14Bs

Had a tough game against Brunswick Zebras who are 2nd on the ladder.  The end result 0-2.

Under 16Bs

Our team played as well if not better than Zebras for more than half the match but luck is made by teams who can maintain concentration for the full period. The play was exciting and the effort was commendable however Zebras were able to capitalise on three errors by Kensington to score their goals. Nevertheless each and every player made a sterling contribution to the team effort and everyone was disappointed after the game. Today the back four defended well & played the ball out from defence  confidently & this was backed up by some very positive goal keeping. In the first half in particular the work rate and effectiveness of the midfield put the Zebras defence under pressure many times  with several chances being created.   There are many positives to take from the game but we need to start applying ourselves for 100% of the game. This is our challenge. Well done girls

Under 18s

Our girls had a nice win against Meadows Park 8-0.  Coach Antonio notes that it was great all round play with Ruby being the top goal scorer.
