2014 Club Administrators Conference

Dear Players and Parents,

Kylie Nielson (Josh and Toby’s Mum) and I attended the FFV club administrators’ conference on Saturday the 8^th of Feb at Monash University in Caulfield.

There were approximately 250 people that attended from clubs all around Victoria.

Kylie and I sat in on seminars that covered sponsorship, grants, fundraising and financial management; player and volunteer recruitment and retention; coach recruitment and management.

We met with an FFV representative (Mike) for the newly branded “MiniRoos” that is replacing the previous ‘Small Sided’ soccer. He will hopefully be attending our Registration Day and organising some Matilda players to come out and run some training sessions during the season.

It was reassuring to find out from other clubs that we are all faced with the same problems of finding volunteers, better facilities, coaches etc. but at least we know we have got the best egg & bacon rolls!

As Registration Day draws near on Sunday the 16^th of February and the start of training in the first week of March I would encourage anyone that would like to volunteer in any role at the club to come and speak to me. Volunteering is a rewarding experience and even if you can only help out with doing the smallest amount it makes a huge difference.

I would also like any mums or dads that think they might like to have a go at coaching or assistant coaching to speak to me because we will be arranging FFV to come to the club to run a 3hr coaching clinic.

We found the day to be very worthwhile and informative for the club and committee and by implementing some of the information we gathered I’m sure our club will continue to be a place for families, fun, community and friendship.
