Killarney Vale youngster, Josh Mifsud is the Round One BDAFL Rising Star nominee.
The sixteen year old played a key role in the Bombers victory over Warners Bay picking up numerous possessions around the ground.
Killarney Vale Coach, John Pidgeon speaks very highly of his young protégé;
“ He is only small in statue, but he is very courageous and continually puts his head over the football. He is also a good mark for his size and has a good engine” Pidgeon said.
Mifsud is a Killarney Val e junior ,who is still eligible to play in the Under 17’s competition, made his senior debut in 2012 and is one of a number of young players Pidgeon and the club will be looking to lead the club into the future.
To be eligible to be nominated for the Rising Star award a player must meet the following criteria:
- Must be under 21 years as at 1 January 2013;
- Must have played no more than six (6) senior games prior to this year
All nominated players will be eligible to win the Rising Star of the Year award provided they have played a minimum of six senior games during the year. The Premier Division Coaches will select the winner from those players eligible.
