At Adelaide St Oval Terrigal Avoca stamped themselves as the leading Central Coast side with a hard fought 72 point win over the Bombers, winning 15.15.105 to 5.3.33.
The Bombers were committed all day, however, lacked the penetration to break down the Panthers defence which has been impassable all year.
The Panthers started the better, which was always going to be a key to the match and from this position they were able to dictate the game and won every quarter to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact.
The obvious difference between to the two sides simply came down to Micheal Besley having an unsually quiet game, if he can turn it on next time the two sides meet there is no doubt the scores will be reversed.
The Bombers were without the boundary line guidance of Coach John Pidgeon as he and wife Amy welcomed new born baby Charlie to their family. Assistant Peter Harvey assumed control, and was impressed by the performance even though the final socreline was not flattering.
Bombers young gun Lachlan Wilson was voted best on ground after an impressive tagging role on Webster while Chad Clarke and Daniel Lloyd also stood out in the loosing side.
The attention now turns to the Bombers round 7 clash against finals contedners Warners Bay. The Bombers used a get of Jail card in the first game to take the points, and know that its now they need to post a win to stay with the competition front runners.
