Killarney Vale young gun Alex Bailey is the Round 6 BDAFL Rising Star nominee!
Bailey comes from an exceptional sporting pedigree, has come of age in his first year of senior football. Alex was a member of the Northern Heat talented player program for five consecutive years, which included a year as co-captain. A standout player in his junior career he received plenty of accolades, most notably Central Coast league best and fairest in 2011.
Alex sustained a significant injury which kept him from making his senior debut in 2012, but 2013 has seen him make his presence felt in the Killarney Vale forward line. His best performances have come when the Bombers were all but gone, and his efforts have earned him plenty of praise from seniors players and in particular, coach John Pidgeon.
Unfortunately Alex, suffered a broken collarbone against Newcastle City which will keep him sidelined for several weeks however he is expected to return later in the season and help the Bombers push for a finals berth.
