Sydney Swans Reserves will grace No 1 Sportsground next Saturday, 6 July when they take on Eastlake in Round 16 of the North Eastern AFL (NEAFL) Eastern Conference competition.
The NEAFL is a State League Competition, with 2 Conferences, and teams from 4 States and Territories, including 4 AFL Clubs.
The Swans have been a dominant force in the 2013, with Eastlake mid-table, battling it out for a finals berth. The Swans are coached by premiership player, Jared Crouch, who is charged with the responsibility of developing players for a senior call up. Tom Mitchell is a current example of how outstanding NEAFL form can prepare you for the big stage, while Mitch Morton applied his trade for the majority of 2012 in the NEAFL, before starring on Grand Final Day for the Swans.
The day will be a wonderful opportunity for the Hunter/Central Coast AFL community to come together, and enjoy a big day of football. At 9am, the Hunter Academy of Sport squad will be taking on a Central Coast U12-13 invitation representative team, while at 10am, the best juniors in the region will showcase their talent, as the Newcastle and Central Coast U16 rep teams do battle. The main game kicks off at 12pm, followed by our local Masters. Entry to the games is free, so get there early, to get the best vantage point.
