The Bombers indifferent form of late will be put to the test this weekend when they face Singleton at Rose Point Park this weekend.
The Bombers will be trekking north to Singleton for their match this week. The Bombers went close to taking down defending premiers Terrigal-Avoca last weekend and will be looking to affirm their place in the top 4. The return of Michael Besley did not produce the expected spark last weekend, and John Pidgeon will be looking for an improved effort from him. Although he did show signs of his best last week, living in the shadow of his brother(s) may be taking its toll on the best and fairest contender. The Roosters never gave up in their last encounter with the Bombers, and with this in mind the Bombers will need to be on their toes when the face the Roosters in Singleton for the first time this year.
First Division action will also see the Bombers travelling, this time to Nelson Bay. Although the Bombers have shown plenty of improvement throughout the year, they are still out to post their first victory. The Marlins are no doubt the pace setters in First Division this year, and the task of getting the better of them at home doesn’t make it any easier. The Bombers showed last week what 4 quarters of hard contested footy can do, and will be out to give the Marlins an arm wrestle for the points this weekend as they work towards their maiden win of the year.
In off field news, the Bombers held a school holiday Auskick clinic at Westfield Tuggerah last week. The event attracted healthy numbers and will surely be built upon next year. Congratulations to Brendan Lewis and Sam Shergold for facilitating the event on the day.
