NO SMOKING

Martins Oval is now a fully Non-Smoking Venue.

If you are a smoker you are now required to leave the grounds to smoke.

THERE'S no place for smoking in sport with Bundaberg sporting associations taking a hard line against the habit.

Spectators, players and officials will be asked to butt out at Football Bundaberg's grounds when the season kicks off on Friday.

While a number of associations offer designated smoking areas and other clubs already ask smokers to refrain from smoking around fields or courts, Bundaberg Football has made the decision to apply a blanket ban inside its gates.

Bundaberg Football president Rod Rehbein said the club previously had restricted areas that allowed smokers to light up when junior games weren't underway, but said smokers would now need to stand outside the gates.

The main reason behind the ban is to create a healthy environment and we beleive most people would respect this decision.
