Aztec Christmas Wishes

We would like to extend warm wishes to all Aztec members for a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year break.

We've enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and we look forward to an exciting year in 2015.

Many thanks for your efforts this year.

The Aztec Tigers Club Committee

PS: Don't forget to practice over the holidays!

New Club Committee

Formal positions in the Aztec Tigers club committee have been allocated for 2014/15. They are as follows:

President: Nick Salm

Vice President: Danny King

Secretary: Tim Firman

Treasurer: Katrina Ray

Congratulations to those who have been appointed and a big thanks to all those involved in the outgoing committee. Additional committee roles will be organised in coming weeks. More details to follow.

Overdue Club Fees

We are in the process of chasing up all outstanding club fee payments. Members who have not paid club fees for this seasons and/or last season will shortly receive an email notification.

Aztec Club Fees are to be paid each season for participating players.

Association Fees are paid to the Bendigo Basketball Association (BBA) and cover player insurance. Association fees are paid every second season.

Some members may have mixed up these two payments and it's important that both are paid in a timely manner.

Anytime Fitness - Special Member Offer

Anytime Fitness are offering all Aztec Tigers players and coaches (over 18) a free 1 month membership at Kennington or Kangaroo Flat. Click on the image for more details.

Grading Meetings and Updated Fixtures

The BBA have provided an update regarding changes to team grading and competition fixtures. The article can be found HERE

New Aztec Shorts

Over the 2014/15 season we will be transitioning all players from the traditional blank playing shorts to a fantastic new design (click on image for more detail). Given the scale of this activity, our supplier has requested that orders be placed by teams rather than individuals. Nominated team contacts will have the responsibility of coordinating the completion of an order form, as well as the collection of money and subsequent payment. We are endeavouring to have this process remain as paperless as possible, so we will be utilising online order forms.

Sizes are as follows:

Youth – 8, 10, 12, 14
Adult – S, M, L, XL, XXL

As a guide, it recommended that players order one size below the size of their club singlet. Multiple shorts can be ordered per player.

Over 12,000 hits in October!

Our new and improved website has really hit the mark with club members! In October alone we registered 12,457 hits, which is the most we've ever had (click on the image for the full-size graph. We've got a lot more planned for the site, which can now be found via If you have any ideas for the website you can email us HERE. Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

Second Hand Singlets

Some very clever Aztec members have established a Facebook group to help players and parents swap and sell second hand singlets. We've already noticed a few teams with number clashes this season, so we advise these players to check with this group first before placing an order for a new singlet. Access the group HERE

2014 Club AGM

We invite you to show your continued support for the Aztec Tigers Basketball Club by attending the 2014 Annual General Meeting.

Our proud club has continued its year-on-year growth in 2014, amassing over 45 teams for the summer season, and now sits as one of the premier clubs under the BBA.

We’ve tasted success across all age groups and divisions in previous seasons, and for this we extend thanks to our committed volunteer network of committee members, coaches, players, mums and dads.

As we continue to grow, our reliance on this support network increases.

Please join us 7pm on Monday November 10th at the Bendigo Stadium Sky Lounge. We look forward to sharing our successes with you and discussing your thoughts on the future of the Aztec Tigers.

Aztec Tigers organisation registration number - A0042065U

Summer 2014/15 has begun!

The new season has officially kicked off, and we have a record number of teams registered! A big thank you to all parents during these early weeks as we work hard to find the right fit for every player and team.

Hydration Basics

As the weather begins to warm up, we'd like to remind all parents and players of the importance of proper hydration. All players should equip themselves with a water bottle, and aim to consume water both before and during practice and games, even if they're not thirsty.

Aches and Pains

Soreness can be common, but its everyone's responsibility to address any physical conditions that may lead to injury. Players are sometimes concerned that speaking up means missing out, however in many cases this can be avoided if concerns are communicated early.

Aztec Tigers Club Hoodies

Club warmup hoodies are available! These fantastic lightweight tops are ideal for use before and after games. Both adults and children's sizes are available, and can be ordered via the following form

Photos and videos

We're always keen to showcase our players! As part of the update of the club website we'd like you to send any great photos or videos of Aztec teams in action. Photos can be uploaded by emailing them HERE

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
