Amy Decker, was on Friday night named best and fairest player for the South East Youth Girls Competition. In a competition that boasted 17 Victorian players from various clubs, this was a fantastic achievment. This tops of a great season for Amy, captaining her team, being selected for Victoria and now winning the league best and fairest. Well done.
Also on the night, Courtney Clarkson took out the leading goal kicker award with 58 goals, no mean feat when she only played 13 games. Well done to her as well, and the future for footy at Berwick is looking bright.more
5 Berwick Youth Girls represented Victoria in the recent interstate challenge against Queensland. Like in the inaugural 2007 series, Victoria was triumphent with all berwick players making outstanding contriubtions. Kara Donnellan (pictured) was named Victorian player of the series.For Amy Decker, Kristy Borg and vic emergency Amanada Turner it was their last game of youth football, but with Berwick seniors, after an outstanding 2008 season, being promoted to Premier Divsion by the VWFL, all will have a lot of footy ahead of them.more
Six Berwick youth players, who this season played senior games have been selected in the 2008 Victorian Youth Girls Team to take on Queensland on Saturday the 20th September, 2pm at Trevor Barker Oval. The girls are Kara Donnellan, Courtney Clarkson, Amy Decker Bec Pearce, Kristy Borg with Amanda Turner being named emergency. For Amy and Amanda it is their first time with this team, although Amy has played under 19's and Vic metro rep football. For Kara, Courtney, Bec and Kristy it is the 2nd consecutive year, with 2007 being the Youth Girls inaugural year, which saw them win the championships in Queensland. This has capped off a fantastic year for the Wickers in rep footy, with a total of 9 players playing rep footy in 2008. Berwick midfielder, Katie Loynes has become the first Berwick player to win a league best and fairest. Having missed two games throughout the season it was going to be tough, but votes she received in the last round of the season meant that she ended equal, on 23 votes and was named joint winner of the Kate Lawrence medal for the VWFL best and fairest player of the South East Divison. Well done to Katie and I am sure all of the players and supporters of the Berwick Football Club join in saying well done on a fantastic effort.more
Wicker Captain, Aimee Buchan was awarded the Rohenna Young medal for leading goal kicker of the VWFL South East Competition at the VWFL presenation night last friday. This was a fanatsic effort considering she missed 3 games throughout the season and that the goal scoring was usually shared through out the team. Well done Aimeemore

The Berwick senior team together with the youth team are joining forces this weekend to support the 'call to arms'. Every 24 hours 66 men hear the words "you have cancer". We are proud to be a part of the fund raising and awareness campaign. The youth girls will wear yellow arm bands this saturday in their semi final and the seniors on Sunday in their semi final. As well as all players donating a gold coin it would be apprecited if spectators could donate as well. Lets get together to support this cause.more

Thursday 5th June. All I can say is that I am glad they play footy and not ten pin bowling. The winner of the night was Avril and the best trier (read, thank god she can play footy cause bowling isn't her game) went to Brooke.

Saturday 10th saw one nervous coach and 5 nervous players head down to NAB oval for their first taste of senior rep football in the annual Vic Counrty vs Metro game. In what was a fantasic exhibition of womens football all girls (Emma, Romy, Katie, Kara and Courtney)did not look out of place in playing with and against the best players in the league. In what was a hard fought game Country got across the line by 4 points.more
