Bio: Another international star to come from South Australia, Bishop quickly established herself as one of most athletic talls in the WNBL, winning the 2006 Betty Watson WNBL Rookie of the Year award at the AIS.

Staying in Canberra with the Capitals, Bishop won three WNBL Championships in her four seasons. These performances paved the way for Bishop to make an impact for the Opals, earning a spot on the team for the 2010 FIBA World Championships.

Now an Opals regular, Bishop returned to her native Adelaide for season 2011/12, teaming up with fellow Opals Suzy Batkovic and Jenni Screen. Another strong season booked her place on the plane to London for the 2012 Olympic Games where she would help the Opals win bronze.

Bishop made the move to Europe following the Olympics, signing on to play with French team Prepignan for the 2012/13 season. Bishop returns to the Capitals after one season abroad enjoying a stellar season that saw her finish in the top 5 in points and rebounds.

Alice Coddington

Bio: Coddington made the jump to the US college scene in 2007, joining Utah State University where she would become a regular during her four-year stay with the Aggies. Here she would meet her fiancé NFL player Michael Smith of Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A return to Australia and the WNBL in 2011 saw the guard join the Canberra Capitals, playing limited minutes.

Coddington took on a greater role in the rotation in her third season and was one of the bright spots in a tough season for the 7-time WNBL Champions.

Carly Wilson

Bio: Emerging as a talented player at both ends of the floor, Wilson went from exciting young talent at the AIS to genuine star of the WNBL almost overnight, earning WNBL All-Star Five honours in her first season with the Dandenong Rangers.

Wilson would win two titles in her four season stay at Dandenong and at just 22 years of age was one of the premier players in the competition. A move across the country to Perth saw her add a second All-Star Five accolade before joining Carrie Graf at the Canberra Capitals.

This move garnered a third WNBL Championship and saw her role change from key scorer to defensive stopper and facilitator. Now settled in Canberra, Wilson is one of the key pieces in the rebuilding of the Caps.

Hanna Zavecz

Bio: Another product of the famed AIS, Zavecz took the less traditional route after graduating from the AIS, heading to the USA to take a scholarship with the University of Wyoming.

The move across the Pacific Ocean agreed with Zavecz, starring in her first season for the Cowgirls and quickly establishing herself as one of the premier players in the Mountain West Conference.

Zavecz’s four-year stint at Wyoming was littered with individual accolades, named in the All-MWC First Team on three occasions, earning two MWC Defensive Player of the Year honours and helping the Cowgirls to the 2007 WNIT title, winning the tournament MVP.

A return to the WNBL brought the Wangaratta junior to the national team attention, playing a starring role in the Bulleen Boomers winning their first WNBL title in 2011.

After achieving the ultimate success with Bulleen, the 183cm guard made the move to Hungary, joining powerhouse UNIQA Sopron where she would enjoy a strong first season in Europe.

After narrowly missing out on the 2012 London Olympics squad, Zavecz returned for another season in Hungary before announcing her signing with the Logan Thunder for the 2013/14 WNBL season.

Jessica Bibby

Bio: Emerging as a 16-year-old with the Dandenong Rangers back in 1996, Bibby is second only to Adelaide’s Jo Hill in games played among active players with more than 320 to her name.

A player with an uncanny knack of scoring a will, Bibby became a fixture in the Rangers team during her early years, playing more than 160 games in nine seasons at the club, winning two WNBL championships.

In 2006 Bibby moved north to Canberra, where she would play a major role in guiding the Capitals to three titles in four seasons – a period where Bibby was averaging career-best numbers in points and three-point shooting.

The 34-year-old continues to be a leader for the Caps and will play a huge role in the club’s rebuilding as she nears 350 WNBL games.

Bio: A Dandenong junior, Fadlijevic got her first taste of WNBL action with her hometown club in season 2012/13, playing nine games in her debut campaign. A talented junior who has represented Victoria and Australia, the 20-year-old is making the move to Townsville for the upcoming season.

Stephanie Talbot

Bio: The talented South Australian has wasted no time establishing herself as one of the brightest prospects in the WNBL, winning the 2013 Betty Watson WNBL Rookie of the Year award after an outstanding first full season in Adelaide.

It got better for the 19-year-old, helping the Jayco Australian Gems to a bronze medal at the 2013 FIBA Under 19 World Championships, earning All-Star Five honours.

A scholarship holder at the Basketball Australia National Centre of Excellence, Talbot earned a call-up into the Jayco Opals training camp ahead of the 2013 FIBA Oceania Championships.

Injury saw Talbot play only 15 games in 2013/14, despite the setback the young gun was picked up in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury with selection 33.

Talbot found a new WNBL home, joining the University of Canberra Capitals.
