Congrats Bill and JD

The official team announcement is on the Basketball Australia website http://www.basketball.net.au/index.php?id=302&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=466&tx_ttnews[backPid]=284&cHash=b223ff0368

It was reasonably expected that Bill would be selected in the squad as he was unfortunate not to get a place on the Beijing 2008 team, and plenty of people were noticing his dominating play in the Euro leagues this past 6 months.

However, Jeremy Doyle realised his dream of representing his country much sooner than he ever expected. Just 5 months after coming off 2 major back operations, he went into the selection camp 2 weeks ago hoping to get noticed but not thinking he had a realistic chance of making the team:

"After my operations last November, I thought it would take me much longer than it has to get back into shape. I'd set a goal of working really hard on my game and maybe having a chance of making it into the Rollers in a year's time. But I had a really good camp and competed well in the scrimmages. I guess it came together for me and I was absolutely thrilled when Ben told me I'd made the team."

The WheelKings are certainly proud of Bill's and JD's achievement and will be wishing them every success on their tour.
