AFL Brisbane Juniors are pleased to announce the umpiring coaching structure for 2013.
Congratulations to the following coaches on their appointment for the upcoming season:
Steve Davis – AFLBJ Umpires Coach
Steve steps into the Umpires Coach role after three seasons in the Assistant/Northside Coaching role. Steve was previously a Club Umpire Coordinator before joining the umpire group in 2008, and becoming a coach in season 2009. He also coached a junior club side for five years. Steve has been a part of the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development program for four years.
James Price – AFLBJ Umpires Senior Assistant Coach
James Price will step into the newly created Senior Assistant Coach role. James was previously the First Year Umpries Coach, a role he spent three years in. Prior to that, James umpired in the AFLBJ competition, initially starting off as a club umpire. James has been a part of the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program for three years.
Lachlan Chambers – AFLBJ Umpires Assistant Coach
Lachlan Chambers will move into the vacated Assistant Coach position, after spending a year as the AFLBJ Observers Coach in 2011, and then as the First Year Assistant Coach in 2012. Lachlan has umpired for eight seasons with AFL Brisbane Juniors, and is a former member of the South East QLD Development Squad. Lachlan has been participating in the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program for two seasons.
Pierce Field will continue in his position as AFLBJ Umpire Coordinator, looking after the administration of the Umpiring Group and providing support to the coaches in regards to training and appointments.
