We are all looking forward to the scheduled restart of Hills Football League matches this Saturday 4 July 2020. The HFL Board met again on 30 June to review all aspects of 'return to play' to ensure the restart and the 2020 program is successful.
Please refer to the following HFL Board decisions and match day protocols for 2020.
1. 2020 Fixture
The HFL Board has formally endorsed and approved all senior men's, women's and junior competition fixtures for 2020, however, some FIXTURES AND VENUES MAY CHANGE as clubs are still getting organised. Please check the website regularly.

2. Gate admission
Gate admission fees were voted on at the Annual General meeting and have not changed.
If a club supporter needs to travel to multiple ovals during match day, they only pay once. The proof of payment is their copy of the Final Siren. They must produce this as 'proof of entry ticket' (purchase) when they enter another Oval.
3. Qualifications for Finals are to be set at 3 games for U13 through to A Grade and 2 games for Under 12, Under 16 Girls and Senior Women’s.
4. Country Division B Grade: Minimum 16 a side ' fair play rule' (By-law)
In order to encourage maximum numbers and participation in Country Division B grade in 2020, the HFL Board has introduced a new minimum 16 player (instead of the current 18) By-law. The new By-law allows for a Country Division B grade team to start with a minimum of 16 players, with equal numbers by both teams (fair play rule).
The HFL By-law is currently adopted by most SA Country Leagues and promotes maximum participation by smaller clubs and reduces the risk of forfeits.
5. SA Government and SANFL 'Return to Play' Protocols
Alcohol may only be consumed whilst seated. (feel free to bring a chair).
The HFL will continue to update Presidents as COVID-19 restrictions and protocols change.

6. Communications with the HFL Office
The Board recognises the importance of clear communication from the HFL Office to Clubs and volunteers during this modified season and ongoing health crisis.
The Board requests all Club Presidents be the 'first point of call' for all enquiries. During this important restart period, Club volunteers should contact their Club Presidents with any concerns. If there are any issues the Club Presidents are unable to resolve, I would encourage you to ring me or Sam direct.
This measure is necessary to avoid any miscommunication between the League and your Club during this challenging period for all concerned.
All the best for Saturday and season 2020.
