AFL Dream Awaits Amos
Fregon football Amos Frank may be about to create further history for the APY Lands with a spot on an AFL list a real possibility.
The opportunity for Frank has come since debuting for SANFL side Woodville/West Torrens in August.
Prior to this game, whilst in Adelaide for the Rio Tinto Aboriginal Lands Challenge Cup Program, he broke the Adelaide FC's 20m sprint record, previously held by Patrick Dangerfield. Amos eclipsed Dangerfields time of 2.86seconds with a 2.82second run.
Meetings have occured with AFL talent scouts and Amos attended the State Screening for the National Draft.
Keep an eye on the AFL National Draft in November and the AFL Rookie Draft in December to see if Amos has his name read.
This will prove to be a massive boost for the APY Lands.
APY Men Make SANFL Debut For Eagles
Star APY Footballers Amos Frank and Kieran Roberts, both from the Fregon Football Club, debuted for the Woodville/West Torrens Reserves side agains Glenelg at Woodville oval on Saturday August 20.
Neither player looked out of place against the eventual 2011 Reserves Premiers. Frank gathered 13 possessions and kicked two goals, one on his left foot from 45m after dodging two Glenelg players. Roberts had 12 touches, kicked a goal and took a high flying mark.
Eagles Premiership Captain and five time Best & Fairest, Mark McKenzie, said that "Amos and Kieran acquitted themselves very well to both the training and playing aspect of the football club. However, their most impressive attribute was their ability to fit in so quickly with the team. The boys loved their enthusiasm and personality. Both are obviously very talented footballers and we hope they can be apart of our plans for back to back Premierships and in years to come."
It is expected that both men will train during the preseason with the Eagles who have just won the 2011 SANFL Premiership.
It is then hoped a spot on the senior list awaits Amos and kieran, paving the way for up and coming footballers such as Nelson Peters from Wintjalangu.

But this was Mimili's year, they were far too good on the day and won 10 runs to 2.

Best for Pukatja; Carol Williams and Selissa Carroll.
