29.19 HEAT WINNER and BEST TIME BY HALF A SECOND!
UB won her heat here at the Olympics in the 50m Freestyle with a very fast time of 29.19. That is a full half second under her best time. With a demeanor like a true champion, and a will of steel she came out of the ready room owning the race before it even began. Just looking at her walk out everyone knew that this would be a swim of a lifetime. As the call whistles blew, she got up to the blocks, called fittingly by Oceania's own Leslie Huckins, and stared down the pool with sheer determination. As the first one off the blocks with a 0.71 reaction time, she powered her way down the pool, holding her breath the last 12 meters and hammered the wall first.
