Tupou can be classified as a rare species in the sports arena, simply because he is not only multi-talented, but also excels, dominating and prolific in his performances of whatever sporting activities he participates in. He has represented the Cook Islands at the 1971 SPG in Tahiti in the code of Volley Ball, and rated to being a top Cook Islands representative contender in the codes of tennis, boxing, rugby, and cricket.
Tupou was a former Minister of the Crown, a former Member of parliament for the district of Tupapa, Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
