Roselea FC U14's home from Kanga Cup

Roselea FC is just home from their first ever Kanga Cup tour adventure.

In an ambitious move, Roselea FC took two U/14 girls teams to Canberra including guest players from West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook, Gladesville Ravens and Canberra’s Radford College to compete in the Cup and Plate Divisions.

The week was their greatest football experience so far. Playing in competition well above their age and experience levels, both teams displayed skills, team work and spirit of the highest quality.  The Roselea U14 Kanga Plate took it right up to the opposition, grew stronger as a team every game and only goal difference denied them a semi-final spot at the end of the tournament.

The Roselea U14 Kanga Cup found themselves in competition of WPL level, but kept playing hard, improving daily and with team spirit always up.   They can now call themselves International footballers after matches against 2 immensely strong teams from New Zealand and one against the eventual winners - YeSung FC who were a team of elite and exquisitely skillful schoolgirls from South Korea.

The fun, the joy, the new friendships, the hard football and the memories of a great week together have made the Kanga Cup experience a very special one for the girls from Roselea FC.  Squad photos with Matilda Michelle Heyman, meeting the international players,  bonding with our guest players and our own club team matesEven a special chance encounter with a group of International Opera Singers atop Mt Ainslie were just some of the off-field memories to add to those happening on the field.

All the girls are already looking for new touring challenges ahead.
