ARARAT - The Ararat Eagles Football Club will celebrate its 10th birthday with a reunion on March 27.
The club was formed in 2000 after the collapse of the Ararat and District Football Association.
A merger between St Marys and Prestige-Trinity saw the birth of the Ararat Eagles Football Club which played its first season in the Horsham District Football League.
In 2001, the club was transferred to the Lexton Plains Football League where it has remained for the past nine years.
Former club president Paul Bulger said the reunion was a chance for the Eagles to look back on their proud history.
''The club has only been around for 10 years but they have been 10 hard years,'' he said.
''We want to see as many people as possible at the reunion showing their support.
''Everyone is welcome - past and present players, coaches, supporters and committee members.
''We basically became three clubs rolled into one after the merge. Even people who have had nothing to do with the Ararat Eagles are invited to come along and catch up with old mates.''
Mr Bulger said no invitations would be sent out for the reunion in order to avoid anyone missing out on the chance to attend.
The function itself promises to be a night of fantastic entertainment.
The festivities will kick off at 8pm at the Ararat Town Hall on Saturday March 27 .
Geelong-based band Jibberish are sure to have the crowd on its feet when they perform a range of hit cover songs.
Nibbles will be provided, while drinks will be available at bar prices.
