The Speed Field Days Mallee Football League had some fantastic games played this week.
Ouyen United Vs Jeparit/Rainbow
Ouyen United continue to dominate as they had a great win against Jeparit/Rainbow. The first quarter saw both fighting hard against each other. Both teams went hard from the start and they ended up with 2 goals each. The Demons got a slight lead in the second term. They had kicked another 4 goals to the Lakers 2 goals. The third quarter started and Ouyen United took off. They more than doubled their score in just that one quarter. They kicked 7 goals while the Lakers were unable to score. Jeparit/Rainbow sneaked another 2 goals but unfortunately it was not going to be enough as Ouyen United extended their lead by another 6 goals. The end score showed Ouyen United won the day by 89 points. Daniel O'Bree showed why he is leading the goal kicking tally by booting 5 goals for the Demons. The Demon's Daniel Cook played well kicking 4 goals for his team. Jake Anstey, Corey Gregg and Keiran O'Shannessy worked hard to make the game a great win. Despite the loss, Jeparit/Rainbow still made some great play. Coach Ash Clugston got the teams best on ground. Lucas Edelsten, Corey Price and Joel Schulze worked hard all day.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers Vs Walpeup/Underbool
Walpeup/Underbool had a great win against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers at Sea Lake. The first term saw both teams tussle and fight the whole 25 minutes while they were out there. Walpeup/Underbool got a small lead kicking 2 goals to the Tiger 1. The second term was a lot like the first with both teams trying so very hard not to let the other side near the ball. Backline for each side were very strong but the Roos kicked another 2 goals to the Tigers 1. Sea Lake Nandaly Tiger must have gotten the pep talk of their lives in the half time break. They came into the third quarter with all guns blazing. They booted 6 goals to the Roos 1. Walpeup/Underbool weren't going to let the Tigers get away with this win and they proved it by great play in the last quarter. The Roos caught back and won the day by 5 points. The Roos' Matthew Lynch and Luke Nathan worked hard and Darren Latta and Chris Lynch played well. Luke Martin and Matt Whitney worked hard up backline and Col Durie did the best they could for their team.
Woomelang/Lascelles Vs Hopetoun
Hopetoun had a great win over the Cats this week as they played away at Woomelang. The first term saw Hopetoun get a good start kicking 4 goals 6 to the Cats 2 goals. The second term showed great play by Woomelang/Lascelles as they fought back to get the match within 12 points. The third quarter saw very little change. Hopetoun kicked 4 goals 3 to Woomelang/Lascelles 4 goals 2. The last term saw Hopetoun get away by kicking 6 goals to the Cats 1 goal. Clint Castleman punted a massive 7 goals. The Devil's young gun Coleman Schache worked hard all day. Steve Hallam, Jessie Robertson and Kyle Gainsford all played great games. The Cat's Royce Free showed his potential. Bryce Scott, Dean Murray and Kade Rixon all played great games.
