NETBALL “ZONE ACADEMY PREPARATION PROGRAM”
HEAD COACH
The FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport, in partnership with Netball Victoria and AFL Goldfields, will from November 2015 run a program for athletes aspiring to trial for the 2017 “Netball Victoria Zone Academy” at the end of 2016. This is a brand new and exciting initiative.
The program will deliver two blocks of four training days (one in November/December and one in July 2016), combining on-court technical and tactical activities as well as personal development workshops in areas such as: nutrition, sport psychology and injury prevention. Objectives of the program are to complement existing programs such as ‘Association Championships’ and Club/Association Netball and up-skill the region’s best under 14 talent to have them as well prepared as possible for the 2017 “Netball Victoria Zone Academy” trials held at the end of 2016.
The program is looking for a Head Coach, who will work with FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport management and partners to deliver the program. Their key responsibilities will be:
- Design and deliver the 8 training sessions, using the Netball Australia “Dare to Develop a Diamond” curriculum supplied by Netball Victoria.
- Work with FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport management staff to plan, organise and deliver personal development workshops and other administrative tasks.
- Work with representatives from FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport management and program partners Netball Victoria and AFL Goldfields to monitor all program aspects.
