We take a great deal of pleasure to award MCDFNL Life Membership to a very deserving person in Harold Mason .
2nd Life Membership is awarded to PETER EGAN from the ROYAL PARK Football Netball Club.
This person exhibits the appropriate characteristic traits to be awarded the MCDFNL’s highest honour.
The MCDFL has gone through significant changes and upheaval over the past 25 years and during that time there have been only a few constants on the field as clubs, players, coaches, umpires and officials have come and gone. As a player, coach and club leader at Royal Park, this person has dedicated his lengthy football life exclusively to the MCDFL.
Having made his senior XVIII debut at around the age of 15 - 16 in 1986, he has since played 392 Senior MCDFL games, was the 1996 MCDFL League Best & Fairest winner, represented the MCDFL at interleague level, coached the Royal Park Senior side for 3 years and held committee positions at the Royal Park Football Club including executive roles for a number of years. The common denominator in all of these activities is that he has given to the MCDFL competition in various forms for each year of the past 25 years.
There are very few people who could boast such a commitment to this competition for such an extended period. During this period he has always demonstrated a love for the MCDFL competition both in words and actions which has been exuded year in year out. During his period of MCDFL involvement, his behaviour has been of the highest standard at all times which has reflected positively on the league, its players and clubs.
It gives us a great deal of pleasure to award a MCDFNL Life membership to a very deserving person in Peter Egan.
BErry powell Memorial MEDAL Vote COUNT
- Ø 1st – Daniel Parkin- Navarre FNC – 28 Votes
- Ø 2nd –James McNamee – Dunolly FNC – 23 Votes
- Ø 3rd – Ben Martin – Navarre FNC –19 Votes
- Ø 3rd – Stephen Ross – Natte Bealiba FNC – 19 Votes
Daniel has capped off a brilliant first season within the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League in winning the 2011 Berry Powell Memorial Medal.
Daniel has dominated play through the midfield this year and his ability to find the footy, and use it with poise and direction is second to none. Forwards love seeing the ball in Daniel’s hand. Daniel is extremely versatile, often going forward and getting on the score sheet. His ability to make his way through traffic coupled with the difficulty of tackling him has been the cause of much frustration for opposition teams. Daniel represented the MCDFNL against Loddon Valley and was one of the better players on the day for the league. Congratulations Daniel on an outstanding season and winning the 2011 Berry Powell Memorial Medal, a very deserving winner of this prestigious award.
