Trentham v Avoca
Avoca travel to Trentham this week in the Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League and the Bulldogs will be eager to atone for their disappointing loss to Maldon in Round 5.
The Bulldogs are expecting to have key forward Murray Bond back on the park and they should have a full list to choose from, while the Saints will also expect to have a full list and will be confident of causing an upset.
The Saints are yet to win a game, but were competitive at times against Talbot and if they can be more consistent over four quarters will provide tough opposition for the Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs should be too strong. Particularly through the midfield with Lachlan Edwards and Matt Jukes in good touch and if Murray Bond can continue where he left off before his shoulder injury then he could be able to kick a bag of goals.

Maldon v Newstead
The match between old rivals Maldon and Newstead looks to be the game of the round as a great contest is always on show when these two sides meet.
Maldon stormed home over the top of Avoca last round coming from 43 points down to win by a point and if they can provide the same form against Newstead then they will be in with a chance, but Newstead has taken all before them until now and will be confident of continuing their winning run against their old rivals.
The Newstead spine has too many tall and talented players, Daniel Christmas is leading the goalkicking table, and the high flying Mark Ramsey can play back or forward. Wayne Burchell will probably get the match up on Christmas, but Newstead has many other avenues to goal with Tommy Reece bagging seven goals last round.
Hayden Kelly and Shaun Burchell provided the imputes for Maldon’s barnstorming win last round and the midfield battle with Ethan Ford and Sam Kerr will be a highlight of the match.

Carisbrook vs Natte Bealiba - Redbacks look to roll on
Natte Bealiba will face what looms as the MCDFNL's toughest task this year on Saturday - halting the Carisbrook juggernaut.
Fresh off a massive 245-point victory over Maryborough Rovers and with an extended break over the interleague weekend, the Redbacks will be primed for another huge effort and will take some stopping.
The Swans' up and down start to season of 2013 looks to have levelled at last, with the side hitting their straps last round thanks to an impressive victory over Campbells Creek. The side will be further boosted by the return of star big man, Lachlan Cameron, who is yet to play a game so far this season due to injury.
Both sides will be out to prove that they are finals contenders, and the match will be given an extra boost thanks to the intense rivalry the two clubs have managed to build up in the space of just three years, but the Swans will have to put in their best effort of 2013 and then some if they are to bring Brook's unbeaten run to an end.

Navarre vs Talbot - Hoppers headed high
Navarre will look to extend their winning streak this Saturday when they confront a spirited Talbot side on the rise.
The Grasshoppers have suffered just one loss so far this season, and since their round one defeat at the hands of Carisbrook, have conquered all challengers. Coach Daniel Parkin will no doubt be confident of scoring another win against the Hawks this weekend, but will be wary of a resurgent Talbot.
The Hawks have surprised more than a few sides this season, particularly with their ferocious attack on the football, and should no longer be counted among the league's easybeats. Second-year coach Troy Cunningham has transformed his side into a genuine finals contender. If the Hawks can manage to somehow conquer the Grasshoppers' full ground press tactics, they should provide more than a challenge to Navarre.

Maryborough Rovers vs Dunolly - Pies desperate to stop slide
A Maryborough Rovers side desperate to halt it's disastrous slide down the MCDFNL ladder may get it's chance to score a much-needed win this weekend when it confronts fellow struggler, Dunolly.
Rovers' start to 2013 has been nothing short of a disaster, first going down to bitter rivals Royal Park in the Maryborough Derby and then copping a 240-plus point towelling at the hands of Carisbrook last weekend. The Magpies appear to have the talent on the park, but the side appears unable to bring all it's pieces together to produce a breakthrough win.
That may all change this weekend however, with the Pies up against a struggling Dunolly outfit. Despite a mass influx of recruits in the pre-season, Dunolly has also struggled to produce a win this season, with just one victory to its name. Again, the Eagles appear to have the talent in their side, but cannot gel together to get over the line.

Lexton v Campbells Creek
Lexton host Campbells Creek and will be favoured to win after their after the siren victory against Harcourt last round.
The Tigers were happy to get over the line in that game as they had to come from behind to get the points in a nailbiting finish. Campbells Creek are a bit up and down this season, but with the high flying Joel Smith returning to the team, it should improve their firepower up forward. Creek has proven to be a better tea, when Smith is in the side and if he is then it could be a close contest.
The home ground will favour Lexton and this is a game that could see the Tigers spearhead Matt Brown get amongst the goals to make up some of the leeway between himself and Daniel Christmas on the goalkicking table.

Harcourt v Royal Park
The ever improving Royal Park make the journey over to Harcourt and there is no doubt that they will be full of confidence after a very impressive first half performance last round against one of the premiership fancies in Navarre. The Grasshoppers kicked away in the second half, but the Tigers showed what they are capable of and if they can put in four consistent quarters then they will be a big chance to upset the Lions this week.
Harcourt have been involved in some close encounters this season and were gutted when Lexton defeated them with a kick after the siren last round and will be looking to atone for that loss. Matt Giri has been improving as each match goes by and if Royal Park is to have any chance at all then they will have to shut down the lively forward.
Harcourt has too many experienced players in their lineup and this should see them get the points.
