Harcourt v Newstead
Harcourt and Newstead do battle at the Harcourt Recreation Reserve in the game of the round in the first week of the Round 14 split round.
Both teams are in the fight for a top four finish and it will be a top clash between two teams who are both coming off fighting wins last week.
Harcourt started slowly against Campbells Creek but led by Paul Chaplin and Matt Giri they fought their way back into the game and eventually hit the front in the final couple of minutes of the game. Mark Oxley also played in the seniors last week and will add to the superb ruck work that Kris Davis already provides.
Newstead had to fight all of the way after a gallant Royal Park pushed them all the way last week and the Steaders will be looking to improve their form from that match for this big clash.
Newstead are well led by skipper Mark Ramsey, but they also have a strong line down the middle with marking power being a strength. The onball strength of Nathan Webster is where a lot of the forward moves come from and David Wall and Joe Park also support Webster with their run and carry through the lines.
Both teams have a lot of quality players on their lists and it will be a contest worthy of match of the round status.

Maryborough Rovers v Campbells Creek
The battle of the Magpies will be played at Jubilee Oval on Saturday but as Rovers are having a very difficult season, the battle is expected to lean in favour of the Creekers.
It has been a long season for the Maryborough Rovers who are coming off a record low score of just one point for the game against Natte Bealiba last Saturday. Injuries and lack of depth have taken their toll and it is tough going for Scott Sellers and his charges.
Creek were very unlucky not to get the points over Harcourt last week after a seven goal to nil opening term, but let their chances slip and were overrun in the final term.
Sean Smith leads by example for the Creekers and is well supported by the ruckwork of Gary Bradford and if Bradford takes the field he will have a good battle with Matt Stiles who has been very good for Rovers in this position.
Creek should be able to post their fifth win of the season.

Trentham v Royal Park
Royal Park make the trip to Trentham for this 12th vs 13th battle but the ladder placings do not do Royal Park justice after they were very competitive against Newstead last week.
The Tigers have improved as the season has progressed and should not be taken lightly by any of their opponents in the final three rounds of the home and away season.
Tristan Maher has been a prominent recruit mid season and should be able to win this match through their running players such as Brendan Birch, Jibb Iglesias and Snowy Walker all finishing off the season in good form and Zac Stewart is more than capable of kicking a big bag of goals.
Trentham was disappointing last week against Dunolly, but were missing Coach Clayton Scoble who adds a lot of leadership and depth across half back for the Saints.
The Saints are a young list with a lot of promise that are in team building mode and will give their all in front of their home crowd, but the Tigers should be too strong.
