Avoca v Royal Park
Royal Park travel to Avoca this week after a weeks rest courtesy of the split round and will be looking to regain some pride after an unexpected loss to Trentham in the previous round.
The Tigers are currently in 12th position on the ladder but despite their low positioning there is definite signs that the Tigers have improved this season and with their strong showing against Newstead recently, they will like their chances of causing an upset against the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs struggled to shake off the persistent Dunolly Eagles last week and it wasn’t until the third term that they slipped into top gear with a nine goal term including four goals to spearhead Murray Bond and three goals to veteran Matthew Fidler.
Avoca’s formidable onball team of Lachlan Edwards, Beau Ketchen and Sam Kaye who has been improving with each game since returning from overseas is where the Bulldogs should be able to set up a dominant position in the game and the match up of Adrian Pilgrim and Dylan Mclean in the ruck should be an interesting battle.
The Bulldogs must win this game if they are to stay in the hunt for a top 5 finish.

Talbot v Maryborough Rovers
An interesting battle is to take place at Talbot on Saturday where Maryborough Rovers will be looking to post their second win of the season to keep their chances of warding off the wooden spoon alive, while Talbot must win to keep their chances of a final eight spot alive.
Both teams are coming off unexpected wins last round with Rovers defeating Campbells Creek and Talbot downing Maldon.
Jonathon Arnel has been a livewire for the Hawks this season and Trent Barras has provided some goal scoring power up forward as the Hawks have definitely shown improvement this season taking a couple of top eight scalps during the season.
Maryborough Rovers will be on a high after their best performance of the season last round. Scott Sellers is the key player for Rovers, but the form of Andrew Jardine, Graeme Kennedy and Matt Stiles has been impressive and if the Magpies have a full list to pick from then they are a better combination than results have shown.
A surprise could be on the cards, but the Hawks will have favourite status.

Campbells Creek v Navarre
Campbells Creek have the unenviable task of facing Navarre on the rebound this week as the Grasshoppers make the trip to the Creekerdome this week.
Creek are also coming of a surprise loss to Maryborough Rovers but the task does not get any easier against one of the premiership fancies.
The Grasshoppers were very impressive in the first half last week against the undefeated Carisbrook and it looked like they were going to be the first team to inflict the Redbacks first loss of the season. But the Redbacks shut down the influence of Louis Hannett in the second half and the Grasshoppers could not challenge the reigning premiers after half time.
Navarre was without coach’s Brent Flood and Daniel Parkin in that game and they will most likely be available which will mean a full list to choose from which is not news that will please the Creekers.
Creek was very disappointing in the first quarter against Rovers but did win the final three quarters of the game, but it was not enough to get over the line. Joel Smith was at his best and the Creekers will be looking for another good showing from the high flying utility but even with a good showing from Smith it will be a tough task to topple the grasshoppers.

Newstead v Trentham
Newstead will look to use this weekend's match-up with Trentham in order to build some much-needed momentum ahead of the MCDFNL finals series.
After making an explosive start to the season, the Roos' form has faltered in recent weeks, and Steaders coach Ross Smith will see Saturday's clash with the struggling Saints as the ideal opportunity to get his side's season back on track.
Roos forward Daniel Christmas has continued his standout form throughout almost the entire season, and will again be a focal point for his side up forward.
Similarly for the Saints, the form of their own key forward, Luke Whitehouse has been one of few shining lights this season, but he seems to have too few helpers up forward, and will be especially under pressure from the versatile Newstead backline.
The Saints have undoubtedly improved as the season has progressed, but whether they have advanced sufficiently in order to press what is still one of the competition's top teams remains to be seen.

Dunolly v Natte Bealiba
Natte Bealiba will be confident of keeping its momentum rolling into finals as the red-hot Swans prepare to take on Dunolly on the Eagles' home turf.
The Swans dominated Lexton last weekend in trying conditions as the side enters a run of form eerily reminiscent of its 2011 premiership season, which saw Natte come from well back in the field to finish the year in a blaze of glory.
The form of captain and key forward Mark Fitzgerald has been one of the key reasons behind Natte's solid form over the last month and a half, along with the evergreen Brent Mortlock.
Dunolly has undoubtedly improved its form as the year progresses, but whether they have sufficiently improved to halt the march of the Swans is another question.

Lexton v Maldon
Lexton and Maldon will fight an intriguing battle this weekend, with the Tigers aiming to get their season back on track, while the Dons are attempting to halt their slide from the league's top eight.
Lexton found themselves outplayed by Natte Bealiba last round in the latest stumble for the Tigers, who have now fallen out of the MCDFNL's top four and are in need of some serious wins as the home and away season draws to a close.
Maldon will seemingly have to chase a major upset against the Tigers in hopes of holding on to their finals spot, which is under threat due to a late-season surge from Talbot, who look set to win against Maryborough Rovers this weekend, and potentially usurp the Dons inside the top eight.
It will take mammoth efforts from the likes of Hayden Kelly, Matt Kile and Shaun Burchell, along with increased output from some of their less-heralded teammates in order to topple the Tiges.

Carisbrook v Harcourt
All roads lead to Carisbrook Reserve on Sunday to witness the match between Carisbrook and Harcourt which will be an opportunity to see just how good Harcourt really are.
The Lions are the big improvers this season and have slipped under the guard of many teams as they look to finish in the top four and this is a must win game if they are to finish the season ahead of Lexton, Natte Bealiba and Avoca.
Carisbrook have taken all before them and withstood a tough challenge from Navarre last week and showed that they are definite premiership favourite as they kicked away in the second half.
It will be a good battle in the middle between two quality midfields.
Matt Bilton, Nick Robinson and Ryan Morgan are all quality for the Redbacks and they are ferocious in their attack on the ball, while Kris Davis Davis is one of the key ruckmen in the league and he has been joined by Mark Oxley in recent games as they look to give Paul Chaplin first use of the ball for the Lions.
Matt Giri is all class up forward for Harcourt and the Lions forward power has been strengthened with the addition of Jarrod Trethowan who will need to be watched closely by the Brook defenders.
A good match is expected but Carisbrook should continue their winning form.
