Under 12 Football
Best & Fairest winner - Cameron Anderson (Campbells Creek FNC), 32 votes
A terrific little "in and under" player. Ferocious at the ball, great tackler with good skills. Able to break away from packs with determination and kick running goals. Shows great leadership qualities. Able to run all day showing great endurance.
Runner-up - Myles Lawrence (Campbells Creek FNC), 30 votes
Stylish looking player with tremendous skills. A running player who can link up with team mates but can get the "hard ball" when needed. Has a very high football IQ showing football smarts during the game. Very versatile and able to kick a running goal.
Under 15 Football
Best & Fairest winners - Oscar Lynzaat (Newstead FNC) & Mitchell Whelan
(Carisbrook FNC), 30 votes
Oscar Lynzaat - A devoted leader of the Newstead Under 15 football team, Oscar dominates games of Football in the Ruck, often following up his own ball like Nick Natanui. Oscar has the ability to change a game, with his long kicks and powerful marking the main features of his game. Oscar dominated Under 14 interleague last season, and continued on his interleague selection this season where he represented the league at the Eastern Oval in Ballarat in Under 16 football. Oscar was nominated in the initial training squad to represent the MCDFNL in Cairns this season, an achievement in itself as he is a bottom age player.
Mitchell Whelan - Joint captain of the Carisbrook under 15 team, Mitchell has had an outstanding season in the midfield. A hard in an under player, Mitchell has also been extremely dangerous going forward as one of the Redbacks' leading goalkickers. A strong leader, hard worker and naturally gifted player, Mitchell represented the league last year in Under 14 interleague, continuing his representation this year with a strong bottom age performance in Under 16 interleague this season at Ballarat's Eastern Oval against the Central Highlands FNL
Runner-up - Riley Bibby (Navarre FNC), 29 votes
Riley is a brave and courageous midfielder who has the ability to go forward and do damage. Riley was a very good player last season, representing the league at interleague level. This season has seen Riley grow a good few inches, allowing him to compete against bigger bodies and also play some quality under 17.5 footballs. A utility that could play anywhere, will have a big say in how far Navarre’s Under 15 and 17.5 team can go this year.
Under 17.5 Football
Best & Fairest - Justin Laird (Dunolly FNC), 26 votes
Justin has been one of the “Gun recruits” into the MCDFNL under 17.5 competition this season. Recruited from North Bendigo in the Heathcote Football league, Justin has played with Dunolly in season 2013 as they returned to the Under 17.5 competition. Justin had the opportunity to represent the MCDFNL at under 18 interleague level this season, he played a vital role until the team unfortunately went down by a solitary point. Justin’s attributes as a player are quite daunting for the opposition. His attack on the Footy is first rate, whilst he has a strong set of hands and is a reliable kick for goal. Justin, well over 6 foot 2 inches is remarkably quick and elusive making him a standout player in the under 17.5 competition this year.
Runner-up - Matthew Gibbs (Dunolly FNC), 24 votes
Mathew is a very good athlete who understands the game of football very well. Mathew had the opportunity to represent the MCDFNL in under 18 football in Tatura. Mathews weapons as a player are his run and carry and his exceptional speed. A Dunolly local who plays in the midfeild, Mathew returned to the club and has been one of the reasons why Dunolly has been a powerhouse in 2013. One of the senior Rookie of the Year nominees, Expect to hear big things about Mathew Gibbs in the future.

13 & Under Netball
Best & Fairest - Ella Tranter (Maryborough Rovers FNC), 26 votes
Ella has had a strong season playing mainly the in mid court, and her team has gone through the season undefeated thus far. Ella is a speedy centre player who provides much drive through the mid court for her team with strong passing into her goalie team mates. Ella played in the 13 & UNDER Interleague squad this year and you can watch her next Satuday week in the Preliminary Final as she’ll be doing her best to help her team get into the Grand Final as they take on the winner of the Avoca and Royal Park game.
Runner-up - Maddy Hall (Dunolly FNC), 25 votes
Maddy, who was also the runner-up for this award last season, has had a fine season with her Dunolly team mates as they finished 2nd on the ladder. Maddy is a very versatile player, who quite often switches from either goals to defence and vica versa and has also played in the mid court when required. She displays great netball skills and never gives up which allows her to get many intercepts all over the court. She has also represented the league in the 13 & UNDER squad this year. Maddy helped her team have a 6 goal win over Avoca on the weekend so has earnt this coming weekend off, however you can watch her in action in the Sunday Preliminary Final, where her team will be playing the winner of the Trentham and Talbot game.
15 & Under Netball
Best & Fairest - Tracey Calleija (Talbot FNC), 25 votes
Tracey has spent the year playing in both the 15 & Under and 17 & Under grades this year. In the 15 & Under side she has played in both goals and the midcourt, while in the 17 & Under's she plays mainly in the midcourt, where she provides drive and constant back up for her teammates. Unfortunately Tracey and her 15 & Under teammates were defeated on the weekend, however her 17 & UNDER team earnt the double chance and you can watch her in action with her 17 & UNDER team as they take on Royal Park this coming Saturday.
Runner-up - Isabella Keogh (Harcourt FNC), 22 votes
Isabella has had a fantastic season with her fellow Harcourt teammates as they have gone through the year undefeated thus far. Isabella featured in her teams win on Saturday playing a strong game in the ring defence and was in Harcourt’s 17 & UNDER team that had a good win also. Isabella will be playing the 15 & UNDER Preliminary Final on Saturday week against either Royal Park or Carisbrook.
17 & Under Netball
Best & Fairest - Caitlin Lanfranchi (Natte Bealiba FNC) & Sophie McQuienn (Dunolly FNC) - 27 votes
Caitlin Lanfranchi: Caitlin is one of the young standouts in the Natte Bealiba team, and has played some fantastic netball during season 2013. Caitlin is a determined player who creates many turn-overs for her team with her strong defensive style of play while also being creative with her passes into goals with her team. A member of our 17 & Under Interleague squad, where she was awarded the Simone Mitchell Memorial Medal for best interleague player, Caitlin has also played A Grade netball with Natte Bealiba throughout the season, and is amongst the nominations for the senior Rookie of the Year to be awarded next Monday night at Berry Powell Medal night, our Senior B&F Night.
Sophie McQuienn: Sophie is another rising star of the MCDFNL netball scene, and has had a fantastic 2013 season of her own. Sophie is a strong defender who can play either in the ring or the midcourt. Sophie was the Best & Fairest winner for the MCDFNL's 17 & Under Regional State League netball side over the summer months, has been an A Grade regular for Dunolly, including being named one of the best players on court in their A Grade Elimination Final yesterday and, like Caitlin, is also in the running for the senior Rookie of the Year award
Runners-up - Tracey Calleija (Talbot FNC) & Kelly Matheson-Miller (Trentham FNC) - 24 votes
Tracey Calleija: Tracey, who was also the winner of the 15 & Under Best & Fairest award, has spent the year playing in both the 15 & Under and 17 & Under grades this year. In the 17 & Under's she plays mainly in the midcourt, where she provides drive and constant back up for her teammates. Talbot's 17 & Under team earnt the double chance and you can watch Tracey in action as they take on Royal Park this coming Saturday
Kelly Matheson-Miller: Kelly has had a great year playing for Trentham generally playing in defence. Kelly has played with determination and a never-give-up-attitude all season and unfortunately her team hasn’t made finals this year so we won't see her in action again until 2014.
