With just two rounds to go before finals in the Central Highlands Regional State League netball competition, the Maryborough & Castlemaine District FNL’s Open and 17 & Under sides have a fantastic opportunity to secure their second wins of the tournament as they take on the Eureka Netball Club at Llanberis Netball Centre in Ballarat.
Both sides recorded their opening wins of the Regional State League against Eureka in Round 2, with the Open side holding on grimly to a 48-44 victory after Eureka flew home in the final quarter.
Aside from a first-quarter lapse, the Open team was extremely competitive against the Riddell District FNL last week, and will be looking to continue in that form tonight.
The Open side take on the Eureka Netball Club at 7:15pm tonight on Court 1, Llanberis Netball Centre.
The 17 & Under side fought hard against the Ballarat FNL last weekend, but came up on the wrong side of a 51-28 result.
Midcourters Caitlin & Janae Lanfranchi have been amongst the team’s most consistent players throughout the tournament so far, and will be relied upon to produce big games tonight by coaches Ash McClelland and Ash Lierich as they look for their second win
The 17 & Under side take on the Eureka Netball Club at 8:30pm tonight on Court 2, Llanberis Netball Centre.
