Harcourt v Dunolly
Dunolly travel to the Harcourt Recreation Reserves and with both teams coming off a bye they should be well rested and could both be at full strength.
Harcourt was disappointing in their last game against Newstead and will be looking to keep their very slim finals hopes alive with a win over the Eagles.
Dunolly have only had one win for the season, but they have proven not to be easybeats and have pushed some of the top eight sides in recent weeks, so the Lions will need to play at their best if they are to get the points over the Eagles.
The midfield battle between two previous Berry Powell medallists, Paul Chaplin and Tony Bellenger will be a contest worth watching as both are in stellar form this season and the winner of this contest has the ability to turn the game in their team’s favour.
Dunolly have a number of avenues to goal, with Jesse Olsen and Matt Halacas, both key focal points for the Eagles, while Chris Stone and Dean Watson are capable of kicking a bag for the Lions.
The home ground should favour Harcourt, but it would not surprise if the Eagles caused an upset in a close game.

Maryborough Rovers v Lexton
Maryborough Rovers host Lexton at Jubilee Oval on Saturday in the second week of the split round and with both teams rested, it does not auger well for the Magpies as this well probably mean that second placed Lexton will be at full strength for this encounter.
It is not known at time of writing if Darren Jolly will be playing for Lexton, but if he is, then he will be better for the run against Carisbrook a fortnight ago and will provide tough opposition for the likes of Dion Hedger and Ty Stewart in the ruck battles.
Lexton showed signs of a team that is now gelling together in their recent game and moved the ball well when the game opened up after half time. Lachlan Murray and Nick Spolding are strong in defence and should have the better of Rovers key forwards, Karson Guareschi and Brendon Hedger.
James Templeton and Damon Aspland, work well together and will be a tough opponent for the Rovers midfielders led by Ryan Guareschi, and if the Tigers midfielders are on song, then Matt Brown could easily finish the day with a bag of goals.
Rovers did get back on the winning list last round, but they had to fight hard to do so against the struggling Maldon Bombers. Lexton is a much tougher opponent than Maldon and the Tigers should win quite comfortably.

Trentham v Navarre
Navarre make the longest trip in the MCDFNL this Saturday when they journey down to Trentham to tackle the Saints.
As with all teams playing in the second week of the split round, both teams will be rested and this will favour Navarre as they had a number of players missing in there last match against Natte Bealiba.
Brent Flood and Sam Robertson were two key players that missed and both should be back this week, which is not good news for the Saints as both are prime movers in the Grasshoppers back half.
Trentham were very impressive in their recent match with Campbells Creek and led at three quarter time, but in fairness, Navarre demolished Campbells Creek the week before Trentham played them, so it is expected that the Saints will face some tough opposition.
With the finals drawing closer, Navarre is expected to be playing their best football over the closing weeks of the home and away and should win this game by a big margin.

Royal Park v Talbot
Royal Park host Talbot on Saturday at Hedges Oval and if this game is played with the same spirit of their last encounter back in Round 9 then it will be a game worth viewing.
On that occasion the Tigers held off the fast finishing Hawks to win by three points and it was Trent Barras that starred for the Hawks that day kicking two final quarter goals, but it was not enough to get the Hawks over the line.
Jacob Cahill kicked three goals for the Tigers in that win and he was also in good form against Avoca in their last game in which he also kicked three goals, so he will be one that Talbot coach Rick Andrews will look to cover. Taylor Stewart also played a big role in the Tigers Round 9 win over Talbot, but the big defender will be missing for the remainder of the season through injury, which will increase the Hawks chances of getting the points.
This will be the game of the round for the split round’s second week, and either team could win a very close match.
