Having the unenviable job of meeting reigning premiers HEYFIELD, with coach Stuart Anderson proclaiming it was “crunch time” for his side ahead of Saturdays clash.
The Bombers did well to steady the ship as the Kangaroos hit the ground running from the opening bounce.
Heyfield’s Matt Miller got the visitors off to the right start slotting through the opener from the pocket before Nic Dowse made a charge at the goals his shot missing.
The Kangaroos had their opportunities three missed shots kept the Bombers in the hunt early before Mitch Dowse booted his first of three.
TTU opened their account through Michael Hall, as the Bombers looked to get up and running.
Best on ground Lyell Berry quickly responded the goal sneak allowed to roam free 40 metres from goal, it was followed by consecutive goals after a free kick gifted Jesse Jackway a major.
Slick delivery into the Heyfield forward line saw Jesse Bedggood with his first of a bag of four, the younger tier of Kangaroos adding an injection of pace around the ground that began to trouble the Bombers.

TTU were first to move forward from the centre bounce, Justin Palmer and Mark McMahon working hard to keep the ball within their attacking 50 but the Kangaroos defence led by Trent Anderson and Adam Lambie quickly drew forward with the rebound from the backline resulting in a major for the visitors.
It was followed by consecutive goals as they Kangaroos looked to break the game open as they continued were they left off after the quarter time break, the side adding four majors to extend their lead beyond 10 goals by half time.
The Bombers worked hard to keep with them throwing their bodies on the line, making a contest were possible but weren’t able to match the oppositions superior skills and class.
Such was the dominance of the visitors they returned nine goals from 24 shots in the second half, their inaccuracy at times a concern with a number of set shots spraying the face of goals.
The floodgates opened in the premiership term, Heyfield’s forwards adding six majors while their defence held strong the Kangaroos backline conceding a mere 11 points for the match.
TTU coach Brad Heil looked to mix things up, as players moved positions to find an ignition point to spark a flurry on the scoreboard but the Bombers couldn’t counteract the Kangaroos pace, rock solid defence or options in front of goal.
Will Kelly and Josh Neille were impressive; Neille's pace around the contests sparked the visitors while Mitch Dowse amassed possessions.
For the home side Tom Lambert was instrumental in containing Brett Szabo to one goal, Michael Hall was tireless in the ruck and Xavier Sellings was one of the better performers.
The competitions number one side SALE CITY showed why they are top Dog with another dominating performance in front of a large home crowd, which saw City trounce Woodside by 20 goals.
A nine goal to one open term set the nucleus for the Dogs second biggest win this season.
Forward spearhead Jake Schuback led the charge in front of goals finishing with seven his goal kicking nous supported by teammate Jake Milham’s five majors and Rowan Bells four goals.

ROSEDALE proved too slick for second placed Churchill sealing a 37 point victory, the Blues laying the foundation for its 16.21 (117) to 11.14 (80) win with a seven goal to two second quarter.
The match was evenly placed at the first change both sides desperation at the ball evident with the Blues taking a seven point lead at the break.
The Blues booted seven goals to two in a blistering surge in the second stanza to put the visitors 40 points behind at the main change.
Led by best on ground Justin Emery in the midfield, forward Andrew Flanagan and goal sneak Ben Plozza in front of goals the 30 minute onslaught killed the contest.
Churchill outscored Rosedale in the third term and remained in the hunt in the final term.
However it was the Blues surge in the second quarter that served them well, Flanagan and Plozza were the pick of the forwards kicking three a piece while Ben Macreadie finished with two.
A first half Stratford blowout has handed GLENGARRY their fifth win of the season.
The Magpies started slowly kicking the opening three goals of the match, before the Magpies came to life as they dominated play around the ground to blow the game open before half time.
It became a David and Goliath battle after the long change, taking a 63 point lead into the break the home side continued the barrage in front of goals piling on 12 majors for the second half to cruise home 138 point victors.
Josh Piper provided headaches for the Swans defence, kicking five majors in a standout performance. Tall Jonathon Bell was judged best a field, his height provided Glengarry with first bite of the ball while Bobby Marshall and Brad Smith were also instrumental.
A four goal haul by Dylan Bolton and Justin Hunt inspired BOISDALE to a three point thriller over Cowwarr.
A stellar effort by the small forwards ensured the Bombers third win of the season, Boisdale prevailing 12.12 (84) to 12.9 (81).
Very little separated the two sides throughout the day, the Saints led the contest for the majority of the match before handing the Bombers a two point lead at the final change.
Both sides went goal for goal in the last stanza with Regan Tait and Winston Gieschen providing the Bombers with plenty of the ball as they put their body on the line against Cowwarr’s hard hitting midfield brigade.
The Saints ultimately falling short in a titanic final term, Captain Luke Cooper led from the front with Sam Scammell and Rylan Willhelme also solid performers.
