The North Harbour Women took out the Semi Final against Counties this morning and got the fast-track to the Final. Counties had a second chance though and made it back for what shaped to be an epic re-match.
After some early nerves for both teams, Harbour were first to strike through Antoinette Spain who made the most of a nice drive and scored in the middle. Another score came soon after for the shore girls and then a runaway effort from Ang Springer saw them up 3-0 in no time at all.
Sandi Hackett had been one of Harbour' standout all tournament and she showed by to give her team their fourth touchdown; she showed great vision in beating the defender who failed to shut, showed the ball and was then off and over the line.
Nadine Hebden was also on the try-scorers list from Harbour in the first half.
The full-tilt start from Harbour was too much for Counties to counter; they went hard at the line on many occasions but couldn't find a way through the organised Harbour defence.
The girls from over the bridge continued to pile on the paint in the second half, running out 9-4 victors.
