Rising Stars Outshines Hydro in U18 Opener

In the Under 18 season opener, Rising Stars outshined Hydro, as they recorded their first victory in that division.  Hydro started the game with all the momentum, claiming a 12 - 3 lead at the end of the first quarter, as Rising Stars sluggishly worked on their team chemistry and line-up changes.  At the end of the half, Hydro was able to maintain their lead, 17 - 11, while Rising Stars were developing greater chemistry on the court.  By the end of the third quarter, Rising Stars was up by 1, 24 - 23, and now feeling good about themselves.  At the final whistle, Rising Stars defeated Hydro 36 - 40, with a come-from-behind victory.

Rising Stars was lead by Dijon "D-Mac" McNabb who scored 18 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, while getting 2 steals and 2 assists.  Mcnabb's size and dominance in the paint proved to be too much for the smaller Hydro team.  Julian "Big Up" Guzman and  Carlo Burns chipped in with 9 and 8 points respectively, while Salvador Fernandez ripped 12 boards and came up with 5 steals.

In a losing effort, Hydro was lead by Gabriel Lewis who scored 19 points, followed by Gian Zetina's 9 points. Hydro was out-rebounded 53 - 40, while Rising Star's bench scored 28 points, compared to only 2 points from Hydro's bench.
