NOTICE: Rules around wearing Skins in League comps

WITH the Winter season about to commence and players - both young and old - about to be faced with the onset of cold wintry weather, the Geelong Region Football Committee would like to bring to your attention the official rule regarding players wearing long skins under their shirts/socks.

Basically, players are permitted to wear long skins under their shirts/shorts. Thanks to Geelong Referees’ Branch representative Steve Kolar, the following conditions need to be adhered to by all players when wearing skins:

For SHIRTS, the skins (or undergarment) must be the same predominant colour as the sleeve and all players (those wearing undergarments) of the same team must have the same colour.

As an example, if the team colour was a mix of blue and white stripes then the players could wear either a blue or white long sleeve undergarment however all the players wearing undergarments must have the same colour (not 1 player with white and 3 players with blue).

For SHORTS, the skins (or undergarment) must be the same colour as the short or hem of the short.  Again, as above, all players wearing undergarments must have the same colour.

An example would be if the short was red and had a white hem then either red or white undergarment is acceptable but all the players within the team must have the same colour.

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
