NEWS: Businesses and clubs have a great deal to gain as Community in Business comes to Geelong

WITH the first ever Football Federation Victoria (FFV) Community in Business regional function to be held in Geelong on Friday August 18 at Simonds Stadium, clubs and businesses that have gained a great deal from previous functions in Melbourne have spoken of their positive experiences.

Well known camera/photography business Konica Minolta has spoken glowingly of its involvement in Community in Business, claiming it has been a fantastic venture.

“What better way to do business than with people who love football? The special guests and panel members have been great and we have made a number of new contacts, and done business as a direct result of our involvement! We are looking forward to next year already,” was the firm’s official endorsement provided to the FFV’s Commercial Department.

Businesses and community organisations are not the only ones who benefit from becoming involved with the Community in Business events, with leading NPL club Heidelberg United FC expressing its praise for the popular functions.

“Community in Business events have been enjoyable, professionally run and an extremely effective way for our club and our sponsors to network within the football community,” said the club’s official statement of endorsement.

“It has allowed us to show our partners and potential partners the great work being done in football in Australia which definitely supported our relationship development with these corporate partnerships and their investment in our Club. Community in Business is a very positive network to be a part of and I would highly recommend all clubs and businesses to get involved in this brilliant FFV initiative,” concluded Heidelberg United.

To be held in the magnificent Captain’s Room, which is located in the Premiership Stand, it will be the first time that the successful FFV corporate function series will be staged outside of metropolitan Melbourne.

Community in Business is renowned for providing fantastic entertainment and genuine networking opportunities by bringing together Victoria’s key football stakeholders including businesses, football clubs, media and government.

Geelong Region Football Committee (GRFC) Chairperson, Jo Plummer, is thrilled that the renowned sporting corporate event is coming to Geelong.

"I am thrilled that Geelong will be hosting FFV's very first regional Community in Business event in Victoria. It is a tremendous initiative by FFV and it is a privilege for the Geelong region to be hosting with only four events planned each year. I'm encouraging any person, business or community organisation to be part of this event and benefit from the commercial and social opportunities it presents. We want to ensure this fabulous forum remains on the annual calendar.

"We are all aware of the social and economic prosperity that a thriving sporting community brings to the broader community. With football now the number one club sport in Australia, Geelong's participation has soared to the fastest growing on the state. Community in Business is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how business and community can work together to achieve extraordinary outcomes for our region," concluded the GRFC Chairperson.

Individual seat tickets are just $55 or $500 for a table of 10 persons. Commencing at 7:30am, the morning event will go for two hours. The dress code is business attire.
