A brace from Nicholas Hogan ensured the three points went to the home side, who have been at the top of the competition standings since the opening round of the season.

Out of their 15 league games played so far this season, the Rangers have lost just once and drawn twice. Only three games remain for them as they play a catch-up fixture this weekend against Drysdale before hosting Drysdale and then travelling to Barwon for the final game.

On Friday night at the Village Park in Barwon Heads, Drysdale defeated the home side 4-3 in a closely fought thriller.

Nicholas Hopper scored a brace, while Andrew Scott and Dougie Weeks both found the net once for the triumphant visitors. The names of the goalscorers for the Hammerheads were not submitted by the club.

Drysdale remains 8th on the league table with 18 points, while Barwon Heads are one spot below them with a total of seven points.

Surf Coast came away with a thumping victory after they defeated the visiting Breakwater Eagles 12-0 at Banyul Warri Reserve on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately, once again, the names of the Surf Coast goalscorers were not submitted by the club.

The Coasters have jumped up to a lofty second position on the league table, just ahead of Surfside Waves on goal difference.

They managed to achieve this because the game on Sunday afternoon between the Deakin Ducks and Surfside Waves at Deakin ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving Surfside without a win since round 13.

Adrian Bond scored the only goal for the Waves, whilst Deakin’s goalscorer was not submitted to the Sports TG site.

Surfside now sits in third position on the league table, while the Ducks are sixth on the standings.

IIn the final game of Round 16, Lara United came away with an impressive victory over Barwon SC after defeating the hosts 4-1 at Grovedale Reserve.

Goals from Dylan Weeks, Nic Fairchild, Eric Lawrence and Elijah Kemerer contributed to United taking home all three competition points, while Riley Smith scored Barwon’s only goal, which proved to be just a consolation in the end.

Lara United is 7th on the table with 20 points while Barwon is now only three points ahead of the Navy Blues and sits in 5th spot on the table.
