Tigers back on track beating Tat

Cobram Courier

Senior men RPL

An Adam Gatcum hat-trick and a well-executed goal on senior debut for 15-year-old Tyler Seabrook , got the Tigers back to winning ways with a 6-1 thumping of Tatura.

Cobram passed the ball much better than the previous game and was well-led from the back by the dominant Johnny Davkovski .

Cobram’s first goal saw Sean Ellis making a run down the left wing.

He then crossed perfectly to Gatcum who, with precise timing, volleyed the ball past Tatura’s keeper.

Gatcum, proving to be unstoppable from a dead-ball situation, scoring his second and third from a free kick and a penalty.

Spiro Vourgaslis taking on a couple of his former teammates scored a goal, which left supporters and spectators in awe of his skill.

Ellis dazzled us again proving he has not lost any of his brilliance from previous years, and scored his first goal for the season.

Cobram are now working cohesively, and can only move forward positively, proving to be a dangerous side within the competition.

Under-17 boys

After a high-scoring win last week, the young Tigers played in a tight encounter against Tatura on Sunday.

Both teams were pushing forward generating chances, with Anthony Demaio defending his goals with steely determination and stellar skill.

Esava Ratugolea and Ali Aldulimi also defending brilliantly and generating the forward push.

Chances went either way in the first half with neither team scoring.

But after the break the Tigers came out attacking, which earnt them a penalty with Tyler Seabrook skillfully slotting it away with ease.

It became a goal-to-goal type of match, with good chances going to waste, until a spectacular rebound from Mason Bond , off the Tatura keeper’s save, got the three points for Cobram.

Cobram’s under-17 boys will now have a break from play for three weeks, eager to polish the team with coach Christopher Gash , ready for their game against Shepparton SC.

Under-16 girls

Cobram’s under-16 girls played their first game of the year against last year’s premiers.

With quite a few girls playing their first game for Cobram SC, there was an air of excitement and nerves prior to the game.

Despite a last-minute shuffle of positions, the girls started well and were matching it with South early on.

Brooke McCall was tenacious up front and was receiving some great passes from the talented and ever-present Eloise Head .

Claudia Crestani was a last-minute change to goalkeeper and was doing a great job until she suffered a hand injury.

Kate Taylor stepped up and went keeper and displayed some fine saves.

Cobram defenders were up against it and despite the dogged efforts of Khalia Oliver and Sina Ventre , couldn’t stop South’s scoring.

Hannah McDonald didn’t stop running despite the heat and endeavoured to push her team forward.

Annie Fotia did a great job in trying to negate South’s goal scoring machine and Olivia Damore displayed soccer talent beyond her experience.

Kylie Wooden chased and pressured the opposition all match.

Despite Cobram’s efforts, they couldn’t find the back of the net or prevent South from scoring a few more times.

They will look at next week’s match against Kyabram as a chance to hit back and get on the scoreboard.
