PAST MEETINGS

Round 1: South 3 (McGuffie 3) defeated United 1 (Rawson)

Round 13: United 4 (Rawson 2, Beer, Dimstas) defeated South 1 (Beth Kilmartin)

Qualifying final: United 1 (Anderson) defeated South 0 after extra-time

United top-scorers: Leanne Rawson _ 13*, Allyson Newton _ 9, Holly Dimstas _ 8

South top-scorers: Maddy McGuffie _ 12, Sophie Findlay _ 9, Lucille Clarke _ 2

*Injured and not playing in the grand final

Case for United: Has the form on the board after scoring against the run of play and holding on against the wind in the qualifying final. A big advantage in finals experience.

Key player: Sarah Theobald played outfield in last year's grand final before pulling on the gloves to save all three of Cobram's penalties in the deciding shoot-out. Will be backing up after playing netball for Nagambie tomorrow.

Case for South: Has a defence capable of containing United and can create sustained periods of pressure in attack. Will need to stay focused at crunch times like the first and last five minutes of each half.

Key player: Maddy McGuffie remains South's number-one avenue to goal and will need to take chances when they present to give the Southerners every chance of a first premiership.

Prediction: United on penalties after a 1-1 draw

MEN'S DIVISION ONE

Shepparton South v Shepparton United

PAST MEETINGS

Round 1: South 2 (Nardella, Campbell) defeated United 1 (James Kalafatis)

Round 13: United 1 (Harrop) defeated by South 4 (Stokes 3, Munro)

Qualifying final: South 1 (Stokes) defeated United 0

South top scorers: Stuart Vance _ 22, John Stokes _ 8, Connor Campbell and Hamish Munro _ 4

United top scorers: Fahed Alghazaly _ 5*, Ahmad Al Hashimi and Luke Harrop _ 4, Roven Shaholli _ 3

*Suspended and not playing in the grand final

Case for South: Ground out a result in the qualifying final after two wins earlier in the season where goals were easier to come by. Alghazaly's suspension leaves United needing something unexpected to surprise South's defence.

Key player: John Stokes has done the goal scoring against United in recent games with his strike partner Stuart Vance either marked or double-teamed out of games. Will be critical once again as foil to the league's top scorer.

Case for United: A stirring win in the preliminary final has given the team belief, but a strict referee could force it to reign in its physical game. Needs to capitalise on set pieces to keep the South backline under pressure.

Key player: Joey Perkovic has played two fantastic games in a row as goalkeeper and may need another clean sheet to help his team to victory.

He won United a penalty shoot-out against South in last year's elimination final.

Prediction: South 2-1.
