Goulburn Valley Suns will hold an information session at Congupna Town Hall on August 1 to gauge the likelihood of getting women’s teams up and running next National Premier Leagues Victoria season.

Football Federation Victoria has not handed down the official guidelines yet, but clubs have been told to participate in women’s completion, they must field under-13, 15, 17 and open women’s sides.

‘‘It’s all still in the draft phases from FFV’s point of view, so it’s not set in stone how it will pan out, but we know what they’re considering,’’ Suns junior committee member Nicole Varley said.

‘‘At this point it seems like you either have to field all the grades or none.

‘‘The meeting we’re having is basically just a meet and greet so we can give those interested all the information we have.’’

Interested parties will be meeting with Varley, Suns technical director Pat Kielty and Suns senior coach David Davkovski.

‘‘We’ve invited everyone and anyone, really. We sent it out to all the (Goulburn North East Football Association) clubs and also to the girls that were a part of the old Rivers system,’’ Varley said.

‘‘What we want to do is enlighten people as to what is involved in NPL.

‘‘We want to tell them about the training commitment, the level of skill development and the sorts of technical things we’ll be working on as well as costs, time and all those things so people come in with their eyes open.’’

Each squad can have up to 20 players.

‘‘We just wanted to be a lot more proactive with this,’’ Varley said.
