Goulburn Valley Suns’ under-13 side had to come from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw against South Melbourne.

The Suns were playing their first game in the top-tier of National Premier Leagues Victorian east conference following the top-eight and bottom-eight split after 14 rounds.

Nick Elder scored the last-minute equaliser for the Suns after Fraser Gosstray scored the game’s opener.

Hector Niven’s wayward cross eventually found its way into the back of the net to put South Melbourne on level terms going into half-time before Chester Murdoch produced a stunning solo effort to put South back up.

With minutes remaining, the Suns pounced on a defensive mix-up and hit South on the counter-attack, with Elder putting the finishing touches on a blisteringly fast Suns move.
