Victory on path to grand reward

Cobram Victory has ensured it will have representation on Goulburn North East Football Association grand final day after winning the men's division two preliminary final at Numurkah on Sunday.

Victory defeated Kialla United 2-1 on Sunday to eliminate Kialla in straight sets and advance to the grand final against Shepparton South this weekend.

Kialla's season ended on a sour note with two players red-carded during the match.

But the first-year club will have one team of its own to cheer on grand final day with the under-16s to play against Tatura.

The Ibises knocked out Shepparton in Sunday's preliminary final 3-1 to set up the decider against Kialla.

Cody Sellwood, Josh Morritt and Joseph Hogarty were Tatura's three goalscorers, while Ayden Dimitropoulos was the sole scorer for Shepparton.

The Reds had more luck in the under-14s and under12s with both its teams advancing to the the grand final.

The under-14s eliminated Shepparton South 3-1 in the preliminary final with two goals to Steven Young and one to Alex Goodwin cancelling out South's goal to James Billington.

In the under-12s, Shepparton responded to being rolled in last week's qualifying final by comprehensively defeating Tatura 5-0.

Goal scorers for Shepparton were Henry Coghlan with two, Cooper Gosstray, Matthew Portia and Hayden Dealy.

Shepparton also qualified for the junior girls' grand final after Dannielle Dimit's goal gave the Reds a 1-0 win against Cobram Victory.
