While many football clubs across the state are busily preparing for the upcoming football season, the Caroline Springs Football Club is busy getting active off the field with the launch of its new Lakers Store.
Officially opening its services on Saturday February 27 at Caroline Springs Square, the Lakers Store is the first local football club shop of its kind.
Providing locals with an insight into what the football club has to offer, Club Vice President Terry Azzopardi says that the pop-up store is set to reach the wider community like never before.
“I'm sure that for a local footy club it'll be a first,” he said.
“The whole idea of the pop-up store is to let people know what the Caroline Springs Football Club is all about and to engage with the wider community who may not know what we have to offer.”
With the aim of having the store operating all year round, the Lakers Store will provide locals will match day information, player profiles, club merchandise, event details, sponsor messages and highlights which will be regularly updated throughout the year.
Coming up with the idea two years ago, Azzopardi says is was great to finally see the project come to fruition.
“As a club we really wanted to establish a stronger partnership with the local community and get involved as an active partner with Caroline Springs Square.
“It’s been really pleasing to see the store come together, particularly over the last three months, and after speaking to a number of other traders in the complex, I think they will be happy to see some new faces come through the Square as well.”
With a big crowd expected to be in attendance for the Grand Opening this Saturday, Azzopardi says it will be a great event for the whole family.
“It’ll be a huge day on Saturday with our club mascot Captain Laker attending as well as some of our junior players, who will be handing out giveaways and balloons plus there will be a heap of activities for the whole family to enjoy.”
The Lakers Store Grand Opening will kick off at 2:30pm at Caroline Springs Square.
