Local Basketballers representing South Australia Country

A number of our Murraylands Basketballers are about to head interstate to represent South Australia Country at three tournaments across the month of January. All of these athletes were successful in either being selected to compete or as reserves for these tournaments at selection trials held in Adelaide throughout November of last year. Since then they have been training hard locally in readiness for these competitions. The first tournament commences next week in Albury, New South Wales with under 14, 16 & 18 boys and girls teams playing a week long tournament from the 11th to the 19th January. For the Under 16 & 18 athletes this is an important tournament as competitive and consistent performances could place them in contention and consideration for a place in teams to compete later in the year at the National Championships. The next tournament which runs in parallel is the Southern Cross Challenge held in Knox, Victoria this being a tournament for our under 15 athletes. The following week will then see our under 13 athletes all competing at the Eltham / Dandenong Junior Tournament also in Victoria. Good luck to all of our athletes heading off to compete and well done to our other athletes who have were selected as reserves and have worked just as hard at training in the lead up.
