Sunday August 24, 2014 is the date set for the Bruce Steensen Charity Shield match. This will be a game pitting the mighty Wolfs, representing OPCK, against the powerful Parrots, representing the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation. Kickoff is at 10.30 am at Aspley AFL club.
The Steensen family have donated a shield for this match which will be presented to the inaugural winning team. The Parrots have struck up a one-off set of jumpers for the game, which will be raffled off afterwards. So if you missed out on a Wolf jumper there is still an opportunity to get a limited edition Charity Shield jumper. We will also be formally presenting OPCK with the funds that we have raised so they can continue their education, awareness and counselling services.
We are asking all AFL masters players and supporters to come down and celebrate the life and achievements of Wolf with some footy, fellowship, fun and a few frothies. The game will start at 10.30am and there will be a BBQ and outside bar set up as well as all the facilities inside the club house that will run all afternoon. Bring your mates and have a great day celebrating all the things that were good about our mate Wolfie.
