GEELONG SC hosted Surfside Waves in a tight Round 14 contest at Stead Park that ended 1-1, which was the only GRFC Women’s Division game played last weekend.

The bottom two teams Surfside and Geelong took to the field at Stead Park and ended up coming away from the clash with the stalemate result. Kate Hollingworth opened Geelong’s goal scoring to give the home side the lead, however Surfside Waves fought back and veteran Cathy Sattler managed to score the equaliser.

Barwon was supposed to face off against Deakin Ducks however Barwon forfeited the match to Deakin allowing the Students to claim the three points.

Kardinia College and Drysdale, meanwhile, were also supposed to take to the field at the Kardinia International College. However their game was washed out and no game was played.

Looking towards this coming weekend’s Round 15 fixtures, the match of the round will be between Deakin Ducks and Drysdale at Howard Glover Reserve on Saturday, kicking off at 3.00pm.

Kardinia and Geelong will play at 1.00pm at Kardinia College with the pitch hopefully dried up following last week’s wash-out.

The only Friday night match will be the Surfside Waves v Barwon clash, which will be contested at the Shell Road Reserve in Ocean Grove, kicking off at 7.30pm.
