We have had a wet start to the season (relative to past years), with more forecast to come this week.

 

Ground conditions have become a significant concern for both player safety and Council maintenance for the remainder of the season. 6 full size pitches have been closed already including our Miniroos venue and another 3 venues and the SG Oval considered likely to be unplayable this weekend.

 

As such we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all miniroos games (u6 - u10) across entire BASL Comp this week. This will provide our playing families time to plan their school holidays with certainty and allow the rescheduling of Competitive age groups to synthetic venues to minimise damage to existing facilities. Please enjoy the earlier start to the school holidays and we hope for dryer conditions when we return in 3 weeks.

 

All U12 Games at Stanley Ave & Kyneton have been moved BSE Synthetic, and the U16 Kyneton v Strathdale game has been moved to Epsom Synthetic. Please check game time changes online.

 

Games scheduled at Strathdales Beicher 1&2 pitches have been moved to Epsom, Synthetic and P3, including the Seniors gala day Strathdale v Colts Seniors.

The league is working with Council to get action on the poor state of our facilities despite only average rainfall this year. Obviously the strong growth of our sport has not been clearly impacting pitches under drought conditions, but without some serious action, more disruption to fixtures can likely be expected. Feel free to support us by writing to your local representatives.
