Coburg fell 9.5.59 to Box Hill's 15.13.103 in the Tigers third practice match on Sunday. Box Hill just seemed to be able to capitalise more on the blustery conditions and it showed in the final score.
After a slow start by Coburg, they worked their way back in to the game and found themselves just 10 points down at 3 quarter time. However, the hawks kicked away in the last, using the wind to their full advantage and kicking 6 goals to 1, coming out on top by 44 points.
Richmond listed Sam Lonergan came off very early in the first quarter not to be seen again for the rest of the day. It is likely that he was simply being rested however, as there was no sign of a serious injury. Other Richmond listed players making an appearance for Coburg were Grimes, Derickx, Helbig, Verrier, Arnot and Simon.
Amongst the best players for Coburg were, Arnot, Grimes, Brandt (3 goals), Groves, Vinditti and Maric, all of whom showed they were in great touch, and allowed some real positives to be taken out of the day.
The development side also went down earlier in the day 16.4.100 to 5.7.37, with the best players including Omar Saad, Drake and Bean.
The next practice match will take place at Preston City Oval on Saturday 30th March against the Northern Blues.
