The 2013 season marked 10 years of playing in AFL Canberra. The season was just average finishing seventh in a 12-team competition with eight wins one-draw and seven losses. The Blues could not capitalise on winning the close matches. Of the six close matches 13 points or less, we could secure only one win and a draw, which ultimately saw us miss the finals. The major individual highlight of the season was Dylan McDermott winning the league best & Fairest. At 17 years, he becomes one of the youngest winners and a few weeks earlier, he won the Blues best and fairest. In doing so broke the sequence of Stephen Chant’s six consecutive best and fairest wins.
The presentation night was again highly successfully, which saw just over 90 members guests celebrate the season at the Cootamundra Ex-Servicemens & Citizens Memorial Club. The highlight of the night was the naming of the team of the decade. The team of the decade was instigated by Pat Kerin, which saw the best players named from the first ten years of playing in AFL Canberra. The selected team was:-
