Preliminary Final Update
September 04, 2010
Mixed results down at Lake Hatherleigh with the Juniors getting through, playing excellent footy and the B Grade missing out in a tough and gritty game. Weather conditions were the worst ever seen with rain and water everywhere, mud, mud, mud and later, the cold wind. Septic tanks overflowed, cars were bogged, shelter was hard to come by and in the end it was a relief to go home.

One of Port MacDonnell’s most loyal servants this week plays his 200th game. Steven started playing in the Junior Colts and has progresses through to the seniors playing both A Grade and B Grade football with distinction. 2nd Semi Final
August 29, 2010
A brisk but sunny day at Tantanoola saw three of our footy sides and two of our netball sides play in the 2nd semi final. Although some results were not to our liking, all tried very hard and those who lost, will prepare and work hard to win this week. Good luck today to our Junior Colts, B Grade footy, B Grade netball and A Grade netball. Go hard! Congratulations to the A Grade football for winni

Round 16 Nang
August 22, 2010
What a wild and wintry day we had at Nangwarry! Still, three out of three was a good result and Nangwarry’s port supply was somewhat depleted by the end of the A Grade which caused a few sore heads, I’m sure!! Shame we couldn’t get the water boys to bring out the ‘goon’ as more than just a few A Graders were shivering as they walked off the ground!!

Shannon 250th Game
August 14, 2010
The Port MacDonnell Football Club wants to congratulate ‘Big Shan’ or ‘Woolly’ as he is affectionately known on playing his 250th A Grade game. Shannon has been a loyal, long time servant of the Port Mac Footy Club. He started his career in the Junior colts, progressed through the ranks to senior footy and was a pivotal part of the 1998 Premiership side. A super strong centre half back, centre hal

Round 15 Tant
August 14, 2010
A great day for footy, rarely do we ever have four wins from four against Tant! A successful sponsors day – Thank you all those who were involved in organising this day. Also, a great night back at the club with Senior skit night. Well done to the eventual winners – B Grade netballers who put on a very entertaining skit! One last game for the minor round. Then FINALS!!! Let’s go Bay!!

Round 14 Robe
August 01, 2010
Two gritty wins from four was a reasonably successful day with the weather holding off until the final siren. Only then did the wind and rain hit with full force providing many of us with a scary drive home! A warm welcome to all of our many sponsors who are here today to share our last home game. We hope they have a wonderful day and the A Grade put on a special show for them! Today also, we are

Round 13 Mt Burr
July 31, 2010
Beautiful day for footy, still and not too cold. Later that evening, we were treated to some very talented skits from our junior footballers and netballers with the Junior 1’s and 2’s winning for the night. Congratulations to youngster Zack Williams who plays his 50th today which is a pretty good effort considering he is a first year out of senior colts. At Robe today, hopefully all our teams will

Round 12 vs Kalangadoo
July 18, 2010
A good day out with three wins. It was wonderful to hear how two B Graders in Peter Cotton and Stevie Devine immediately put up their hand to volunteer to do the A Grade boundary when we were caught short. They are a shining example of how to be part of a club. Well done guys. An excellent night back at the club with the Red and Blue ball – a lot of fun had by all. Congratulations to the ‘winners’

Scott Miller 200th
July 12, 2010
Scotty Miller this week reaches 200 games for Port MacDonnell. It’s been a long while coming with Scotty “helping out” with 2 or 3 games a year for about the last 3 or 4 years but it is thoroughly deserved.

Round 11 vs Kongorong
July 12, 2010
Wintry, stormy conditions greeted us last week with strong winds and rain for most of the day. Yet, we got out of it alright, winning three out of four games against our arch rival Kongorong. Congratulations to Megan and Adam on the birth of their little junior colt, Taj Wilson. A brilliant night back at the club, with the band and Jason Smith’s 30th. The players and supporters filled the place, m

Round 10 vs Glencoe
July 05, 2010
What a mixed bag at Glencoe! Great wins from our minis and our B Grade, great effort by the senior colts but unfortunately our A Grade did not play the same standard as other weeks. Although bitterly disappointed and hopefully they will bounce back and learn from this game against Kongorong this week. Congratulations to Big Will and Asha on the early but safe arrival of their beautiful little girl

Round 9 vs Hatherleigh
July 01, 2010
A crisp, wind free day perfect for football and what a great day for us winning four from four! A big thank you to all those who give their time to volunteer in any way to make our home matches go smoothly. It is hugely appreciated by our club. Thank you to those who came to Op Shop night. Some great outfits and I hear the night only got better and better! Check out website for latest Op Shop phot

Round 8 vs Nangwarry
June 20, 2010
A lot has happened in three weeks. I’m sure like all of you it’s been weird not being at the footy but hopefully we’re all back hungrier than ever to play great footy and win tough games! Flight night was a great social night – great fun and many sore heads I’m sure! Last Man Standing, last Saturday was also a fantastic success. A sincere thank you to ALL those who were involved, in either event,

Round 7 vs Tantannola
May 30, 2010
Some good wins at Tant in dodgy conditions. Maybe winter has now set in. A couple of exciting events last week. Congratulations to Sallyanne and Al Morgan on the safe arrival of Caleb. Also to James and Rachel McGregor on birth of their little boy, Cruize. Thanks to adding to the Port Mac footy club draft. Hope to see them kicking the ball around very soon!! On a serious note, we hope that all is

Round 6 vs Robe
May 23, 2010
A good day at the Bay with 3 wins from 4. No wind and beautiful sunshine gave both sides an opportunity to play good football. We would also like to thank Robe for leaving their change rooms in spotless conditions unlike the team we played on our first home game where it was left vandalised and filthy. We finished the day with our very cultural Undie 500, which saw many get their ‘kit’ off that h

Round 5 vs Mt Burr
May 19, 2010
The Burr had plenty of bright colours on Saturday from the sunshine to the yellow boots in the B Grade. The day started off well looking like another 4 out of 4 wins however that was not to be. Today we a hosting Robe where tonight the moon will be out for the “UNDY 500”. I hope you have your teams organised, clean underwear or simply ready to stay around and spectate!

Round 4 vs Kalangadoo
May 09, 2010
A clean sweep this week, winning all four grades. It has been a long time since we’ve done that especially at K’Doo. Another great win from our A Grade, making it four from four wins. Marvin the Monkey certainly knows what he’s talking about! Good to see so many supporting. There has been much media talk about getting on the ‘bandwagon’ now that we’re travelling okay but most of our supporters hav

Round 3 vs Glencoe
May 03, 2010
A great day’s footy with the Bay winning 3 out the 4 games for the day. Well done! Great to see so many back for tea later on and then hang around for the band. Good time had by all. Players fund for their footy trip has been topping up this week including penalising the President for his mug in the budget! Bit rough! Seems reasonable that Frenchy got pinged twice though (one for his daughter). Le

Round 2 vs Kongorong

Great win last week against our arch rivals and hope our boys can continue today against Glencoe. Hope to see some great footy and remember to come back later for the band. Membership money is due and 100 club money needs to be paid to Darren Williams. Thank you to our sponsors.

Round 1 vs Hatherleigh
May 03, 2010
What a wonderful feeling to be on the winner’s board after the final siren! How great was it that we actually had the luxury of resting players off the bench? Well done to the A Grade side for a brilliant game and good to see that later on the boys were still ‘training’ with the Game of Life… I’m sure those push ups will pay off later in the year! Thank you to all our sponsors and hope to see you
