Sammy's Season Summary
I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the 2013 season and how we performed both on and off the field. This season the juniors fielded 2 under 10’s, 3 under 12’s, 1 under 14’s, 2 under 16’s and 1 youth girl’s side. All sides performed extremely well and the club was fortunate enough to see 6 sides participate in finals with 3 making it to the Grand Final, our under 10’s Div. 2 and both our under 12’s Div. 2 & Div. 5. Unfortunately we were unable to win the Grand Final in any of the 3 sides but we were certainly proud of their efforts. Congratulations to our 3 coaches Andrew Goss, Wayne Hilton and Peter Fitzpatrick and their teams on making it through to the grand final
On an individual level the club had 2 players win the EDFL Best & Fairest, congratulations to Murray Leonard who in his 1st season of playing football won the under 16 Div. 5 and Campbell Gray on winning back to back medals after winning the under 10 Div. 2. A fantastic effort.
Throughout the season we had a number of social functions on Friday night and these were all well attended by our families. To those parents that volunteered their time to help with cooking, serving and cleaning up after each Friday night this was greatly appreciated by the junior committee. The success of our social nights could not be achieved without parents volunteering their time each week.
This season the club introduced a coaching program working closely with Ex AFL player Anthony Rock and his company Accelerate. This program enabled all our junior coaches and assistant coaches the ability to further develop their coaching skills. The feedback received from all coaches was that the program was excellent and the junior committee’s recommendation would be to continue with this in season 2014.
To all our coaches & assistant coaches you all did a fantastic job coaching our players this season. Our improvement on the field is a reflection of the hard work and dedication you all put in this season. A big thank you to you all, the junior committee hopes you all continue to coach our players in season 2014. I would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge all those parents that volunteered their time to assist with match day roles a big thank you to all as without your involvement our teams would not be able to take the field each week.
A very important part of the Junior Football Club is our Junior Sponsors. The Junior Committee are very appreciative of their financial generosity as without the support of our sponsors, new equipment or match day awards would not be able to be obtained and/or given. The sponsorship area was managed by Annitta Siliato and not only was she able to maintain all our sponsors from the previous years, new sponsors were also found for this season.

The success of our juniors could not be achieved without those people who have volunteered their time to be on the junior committee this season. Sandy Noto, Claudio Petrocco, Jenny Saunders, Frank Scarpino, Annitta Siliato, Sue Cugley, Rob Tierney, Craig Richardson and Peter Browne.
I would also like to acknowledge the Panther Cubs social committee for 2013. Teena Hilton, Diana Capuana, Angela & Laurie Verduci, Jenny Saunders, Claudio Petrocco & Frank Scarpino. What a fantastic effort you all did with running our Friday night social events and more importantly our first ever junior dinner dance which was a huge success. This season we had our biggest fundraising season on record.
Without the support from all committee members throughout this season, the success we've achieved both on and off the field could not have been possible and I am sincerely appreciative of the support you have all given me this season as Junior President as it has made my role so much easier to do.
I look forward to seeing you all back in 2014 and let's strive to ensure that Pascoe Vale Football club is the place to be.
