Sportsbet TV Ad
Funny to see on the TV, the AD for Sportbet, with the guy walking around the office picking all the different bets in the upcoming round of football across Australia. Corio in the GDFL gets a mention, but I bet after the last 2 weeks he wouldn’t be very happy with us.
Volunteer of the week
This week is Kara Ince who works tirelessly in the kitchen every week for Thursday Night meals and also assists in running the Auskick program for our club. Kara is always happy to volunteer her time and to help out with whatever duties asked of her by our club. Kara has been helping out on and off for several years and the club would like to thank her for her ongoing support.

Goals: Troy Feldman 4, Andrew Spengler 4, Andrew Ferguson 2, Leigh Clifford 2, Shane Manning, Shane Rogan
Best: Ricki Lazzarich, Barry Otoole, Jason Huhn, Calvin Obrien, Andrew Ferguson, Andrew Spengler
The Seniors after looking in the zone in the first quarter just faded away in the next two quarters and then fought back hard in the last quarter but the horse had already bolted. There were plenty of fantastic individual efforts but as a team once again failed to provide enough team efforts to sustain a high level of performance for much of the game. Its hard to believe that Jason Huhn has been out of football for 6 seasons after another heroic game at CHB last week. Jason will back back into any pack to assist his team mates and has no problem reading the play getting plenty of kicks for himself. Bazza tried desperately throughout the game to lift his side throwing himself into packs winning plenty of freekicks and leading by example how to win the ball. Andrew Spengler was great once again providing much of the drive up and down the wings and took a huge screamer in the goal square. Lazer was another player who tried desperately to lift his side doing all the one percenters in true Lazer style. Obe in a new position in the back pocket showed his versatility spoiling multiple times and winning the ball many times throughout the game. Fergi was a welcome inclusion showing blistering pace up and down the wings running his opponents into the ground and winning the ball with consummate ease. Cliffy, Manno, Nev, and Roges were all ok but something is definitely wrong with the team with so many player in form, the side should be winning more often than it is!
Reserves Vs Inverleigh away Corio 19-21-135 to 3-3-21
Goals: Shaun Gundry 7, Jacob Neal 4, Leigh Cervanka 2, Matthew Cullen 2, Corey Bromley, Michael Baumann, Geoff Mitchell, Daryle Smith
Best: John Bartolo, Michael Mostert, Shaun Gundry, Michael Baumann, Jacob Neal, Darren Bennett, Chris Laurie, Dale Greaves, Clint Eldredge
The reserves thrashed the helpless opposition led by another great game by Johnny Bartolo who wins a lot of the hard ball and feeds out handballs to his running team mates. Scratcher Neal played his best game for the club picking up a stack of possessions all over the ground and set up many goals and managed 4 majors for himself. Mr Bean snagged 7 and then continued to play well in defence when moved there late in the game. Twinkle toes Bowy ran riot up and down wings clearing the ball numerous times out danger for his side throughout the game. Backmen Lozza, Gravy and Mozzie played their regular rock solid games repelling countless forward thrusts by the opposition. Unsung Backman and Coach Benny played his normal no fuss solid game across the half back line leading his side well and picking up the ball at will for most of the game. Eldo played another beauty with some lovely pin point passes to leading forwards. .
U/18 Vs Inverleigh away Corio 8-14-62 to 7-12-54
Goals: Dylan Taylor 5, Harley Hunter, Daniel Scott, Josh White
Best: Daniel Scott, Dylan Taylor, Ash Cullen, Shaun Hastings, Dane Burke, Josh White, Steven Grooby, Josh Cleary
The U\18s for the second week in a row fought hard in the last quarter to take out a narrow victory. The efforts of many of the players in the last quarter was awesome and the desperation shown by the players was of a very high level. The only question is why does it take til the last quarter to show that level of desperation? If the players can play at that level for the entire match then most sides in the comp wont get near them. But nonetheless the last quarter was great to watch and proves just how well the side can play when they decide to. Daniel Scott was great again getting to the bottom of the pack and winning the ball for his side and also snagged the game winning goal late in the last quarter. Dylan Taylor marked strongly and kicked accurately slotting through 5 majors for the match. Captain Ash Cullen stepped up when it counted and provided a strong marking option across the half forward flank and really led the side well in the last quarter taking some telling marks. Shaun Hastings at full back saved the game on several occasions in the last quarter and read the ball much better than his opponent over the entire match taking many marks and providing some pin point passes out of defence. Dane Burke played his best game for the season and will be a very dominant ruckman for his team if he starts to believe in himself. Josh White played another solid game being another leading option in the forward line picking up a lot of kicks. Steven Grooby and Josh Cleary played their normal standout games and were another pair that lifted in the last quarter when it really mattered.
