1980 Offspring play AFL Football

All Bulldogs supporters should keep an eye on the AFL Draft tomorrow.

Oliver Wines is a top ten draft prospect.

Oliver is the son of Tony and Jane Wines.

Tony played in the 1980 & 81 premiership teams for Avoca and was runner up in the club Best & Fairest and leading goalkicker in 1981. Jane was a state representative on the hockey field.

A couple of other players to play in1980 were Geoff Drummond and Wayne Deledio.

Geoff is the father of recently retired Brisbane Lions defender Josh Drummond.

Wayneis the father of Richmond midfielder Brett Deledio.

Wayne’s brother Ron was also the Coach of the 1980 & 81 Premiership teams.

So it will be an amazing feat when Ollie Wines is drafted.

The offspring of three players from the Avoca 1980 premiership team becoming AFL footballers.
